Loved that film from the first time I watched it. Recently I’ve been putting captions on, as the accents are sometimes too hard to understand.

I just watched the 1930 film “Hell’s Heroes”. While definitely not as good as John Ford’s 1948 version, it was still excellent.

Since this doesn’t appear to be on the WAC release schedule this year, just a heads up that it’s currently on the TCM app thru Christmas. Print looks pretty nice too.

Was hoping for Big Jim McLain this time around. Just watched the DVD the other day. Maybe it’ll happen next month, along with Operation Pacific or Trouble Along The Way

Good lord, Freaks has to be the most terrifying movie I’ve ever seen. 40 years ago I caught a midnight showing with friends. I was absolutely traumatized with the ending of the film.

If that’s the case, may I suggest future consideration for Allegheny Uprising, Tall In The Saddle, Back To Bataan, and Tycoon? :)

You’re correct Robert…my mistake. But Warner does own the rights to release this title. It would be wonderful if they saw fit to release it before Christmas 2023

I don’t get TCM since I ditched cable, but my guess is this new 4K scan of Rio Bravo will be released on physical media very soon. And when it does, it’ll be a day 1 purchase. I’ve been waiting years to see this fine film get a new scan!

Exactly, I would pass on that. Much like the current BD release of A Muppets Christmas Carol, I just could not enjoy watching the edited version of The Alamo, knowing that I won't be seeing the full version of the film that the director intended.

The release of The Alamo Roadshow version would make 2018 a very happy year for me
