What’s left that I’d like on physical media

Also it depends on the show. For example, I have rarely noticed the music changes in Criminal Minds where I have no idea if it even changes the setting/meaning of the episode in its absence. One I can remember offhand, was in a season 1 episode "The Tribe" where in reruns it opens with "In a...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

This goes to show that replacement music perceptions can be drastically different from person to person. The 1960s were before my time, and I didn't listen to 60s / early 1970s era music when I was a kid/teenager. Drastic music changes which could affect the setting/meaning for me, which I...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

For different reasons, I would get a re-released dvd or bluray native hd release of The Pretender, because the original Fox released versions were done as dreadful doubled-sided DVD14 flipper discs. Though I don't think this will ever happen, now that Disney owns the MTM Production library...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

One Cold Case episode which I don't think the setting / meaning would be drastically affected with similar style music or even cover versions of the same songs, would be the "Volunteers" epsiode from season 1. The case dated back to late 1960s which featured one the characters burning his...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

I've watched every episode of Cold Case numerous times in its first run and reruns over the past 15+ years. I would agree it is dependent on the particular episode, as to whether a music change would make a drastic difference. For example, one episode which would drastically affect the setting...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

At its core, it is the nerd/geek penchant for making "lists" which nobody else pays attention to. (Other than other like-minded nerd/geek types hardcore into the same highly specialized niche).

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

A hardcore dvd/bluray nerdy/geeky version of "fantasy football", but without any betting cash.

You will have to do more googling and research, if you want to know what the exact functions / behavior are of the other firstparty options in Firefox.

I haven't tried them all yet. The master killswitch appears to be privacy.firstparty.isolate (Offhand I don't know what the specific functions are of the other options in the privacy.firstparty.* hierarchy).

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

The privacy.firstparty.isolate option set to true in about:config in Firefox, will do something similar.

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

Have you tried directly asking VEI or Kino if they would be willing to do a St. Elsewhere complete series dvd (or bluray) set?

(Without going into technical details). Essentially dvd-mod titles will never hit bargain bin prices, unless a huge distributor files for bankruptcy and liquidates all the dvd-mod inventory.

Even more annoying were the later seasons which were only released as dvd-mod by Fox.

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

That kind of "sticker shock" is what turned me off from the first dvd releases of Star Trek TOS, which had two episodes per disc. (Each disc was sold seperately for around $20 a pop). I looked into Connections around that same time period, but didn't find any good info. So I completely forgot...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

Though speaking of the 2009 Fox re-releases and Reba, my copies of Reba seasons 1 to 4 were the 2009 re-released ones in the generic amaray multidisc dvd cases. My copies had a few of the discs slightly scratched during the manufacturing/packaging stages, but they played fine. (IIRC, the...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

IIRC, Fox only did single-sided discs re-releases for Bones, Reba, and Mary Tyler Moore. Though in the case of Reba, only seasons 5 and 6 were redone as single-sided discs. (Seasons 5 and 6 were originally done as DVD14 double-sided flipper discs). Unfortunately seasons 1 to 4 were still in...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

In a fantasy alternate world, I would like to believe there is a large enough nostalgia audience for The Pretender, such that Disney or somebody else (ie. shout, kino, etc ...) might release a 25th anniversary edition complete series dvd set. Though back to our reality, I suspect the audience...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

With all that being said, an NYPD Blue complete series dvd set released by Shout Factory would likely be a first-day buy for me. Such a hypothetical set would likely have seasons 3 and 4 both redone as single-sided discs. (Seasons 3 and 4 were originally done as 4-disc sets by Fox, where the...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

The stuff which I strongly suspect will remain dead, is anything owned by Disney/Fox. For example, I was hoping The Pretender and other MTM productions (such as Remington Steele) might be re-released as single-sided discs. If Fox wasn't willing to do any re-releases, then I suspect Disney will...

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

In contrast for shows I didn't really watch (or not at all) and don't remember much of, the only way I would notice music modifications is if it sounds "anachronistic" and/or if there are online list of original songs from each episode which point out modifications on the dvds.

What’s left that I’d like on physical media

If this was 5 or 10+ years ago, I would have listed something like Cold Case and maybe a single-sided discs re-release of Silk Stalkings. Fastfoward to today, I have a strong suspicion I would feel very disappointed if Cold Case was released by Warner Archive with too much of the music...
