I get them, too. Medication-related. Annoying as hell.

You're a better man than I, Gunga Din. Even setting Covid aside, everything I hear about the current state of plane travel makes me think that I may never fly again.

We done been shot! I had the bivalent booster and the senior-dose flu shot, both in the same arm (I've had lymphedema in my right arm, so I avoid sticks there). Had a sore arm after a couple of hours, but it's down to a dull, barely noticeable ache today. My wife had the booster in one arm and...

Too many other things going on lately, but my wife and I have an appointment (for bilvalent booster + flu) at our usual pharmacy for next Tuesday.

I don't recall having any reaction to either of the Shingvax shots other than the usual sore arm. The first time I got the senior dose flu shot, I was laid out for a day or two, but the subsequent ones have not been problematic (again, other than the sore arm).

Same with me. I got booster #2 in mid-July. So did my wife, but since she had a bought of Covid a month ago, it's not clear when she'll be eligible for the new booster.

When my wife and I dropped into our local pharm for our second boosters, we didn't have quite enough time (it was close to closing time) as we needed to stick around for 15-30 minutes to make sure we didn't have any bad reactions. When we went back a couple of days later, we got our boosters...

Actually, children are getting Covid. In the early days of the pandemic, the more likely people to be infected were seniors, with likelihood of infection decreasing with younger age groups. So a lot of people believed that children were immune to Covid. This proved not to be the case. In the...

I personally know only four people who've gotten Covid. The first two were a sister-in-law and one of her sons pretty early in the pandemic. Without going into details, the SIL probably got it from her son, who probably got it on the job. They were down for the count for about 2-3 weeks, but...

What strikes me as bizarre are the people who say that they won't listen to their doctor if he tells them they should get vaccinated. Why do they even bother having a doctor? Do they take their doctor's advice on other matters? If so, why do they disbelieve them on this? I admit that in my...

That had been the accepted wisdom. But then, there was at least one case here in New Hampshire in which a man got Pfizer for his first shot, and was mistakenly given Moderna for his second. There was some sturm und drang about it for a while, but the health professionals decided that it didn't...

If I've just been in a store and walk out to my car, and I'm just popping a few blocks over to stop at another store, I might keep the mask on for that short distance. Now that we're into summer weather, though...

I've been rather surprised at how many people in my area are still wearing masks even where they aren't required. NH's vaccination rate is pretty high (50% fully vaccinated, circa 70% with at least one shot). As of a few hours ago, we are apparently in the #6 spot for full vaccination. And oddly...

NH had lifted the mask mandate at the state level, but let cities and towns continue with their own mandate. Concord still has a mandate in place. Nonetheless, I'm seeing more people not wearing masks around town than before. Surprisingly, while I've seen a number of maskless people in Wally...

Actually, except in the earliest days of masking a year ago, and until I noticed people walking around maskless a few days ago, pretty much everyone in my local Wally was masked. But it was undoubtedly because the city enforced it.

Not just in the South. Such signs were all over the place here in New England. The thing is that stores are allowed (or should be allowed) to bar anyone for health reasons. The "No shirt, no shoes, no service" thing is the most obvious, but it also means prohibiting people from smoking in the...

Oh, no doubt. My point is that if a business here wants to enforce its own mandate, they are allowed to by the state. And they can point to the state's, ah, statement that businesses are allowed to do so. I suspect that the "tiresome" issue will cause most businesses to not enforce it, but...

« Another prominent anti-vaxxer suggested quarantining people who have been vaccinated. “There is something being passed from people who are shot up with this poison to others who have not gotten the shot,” said Larry Palevsky, a New York pediatrician and anti-vaxxer, on a separate livestream...

In NH, several businesses still insist on customers wearing masks and not crowding. One of them here in Concord (our indie bookstore) even has a big sign at the entrance saying "Masks MUST cover BOTH nose AND mouth". Our local Wal-Mart, however, seems to be letting mask-less customers shop.

I've had both Covid shots in my left arm. I always get sticks (shots and blood draws) in my left arm. I'm a righty, but it's mostly because I've had lymphedema in my right arm. I sleep primarily on my right side, as well, although I sometimes switch to my left.

Unforuntately, it is exactly this that creates hesitancy in getting the vaccine for too many people. Just tonight on our local news, they gave the results of a poll. Somewhere circa 22% of people here in the Hamster Shire claim that they don't want to get the vaccine. The largest group of those...
