CBS Series DVD's and possible Blu Revisits

Well, even though they were both Four Star Productions, there might've been some sort of weird licensing issue with the Trackdown episode.

It was rather disappointing that the episode "The Bounty Hunter", which was a pilot for Wanted--Dead or Alive, wasn't included as an extra in any of the WDoA DVD sets.

Well, sure. That's possibly the why, or a part of it. But the studio labels still look at the fact that non-SF/F doesn't sell as well on blu-ray as a reason to not release it on blu-ray.

I wasn't mentioning that as older-show-specific thing. Even with modern shows, it's less likely for a sitcom, family drama, or even a cop show to get a blu-ray release than an SF/fantasy series. The same is true of color vs. black & white shows. It's just an oddity of perception that certain...

CBS Series DVD's and possible Blu Revisits

CBS Series DVD's and possible Blu Revisits

That's the frustration of wanting physical discs on one's shelf, instead of depending on TV/cable syndication or streaming platforms. There are a number of series that seem to have just disappeared because they just aren't seen as profitable to the studios. I've been keeping my eye out for a...

I think it's pretty clear that the really long-running shows are likely out of the running. It's a miracle that they've managed to get the entirety of Gunsmoke out on DVD. To have it on BD would probably be out of the question. Ditto Hawaii Five-O or Perry Mason. Even Rawhide might be pushing...
