I think the simple question here is has Universal completely lost their minds? How do you make the same mistake twice? Is there no one there who knows how to LISTEN to the track everyone complained about and the original mono, which appears on their own discs? I'm happy to drive over there...
Well, which is it for God's sake. Normandie says it's different and fixed, most others are saying it's not. This isn't brain surgery and has nothing to do with kbps - it has to do with SOUND and the correct mono mix. Let's not have confusion here - it's either been fixed or it hasn't.
You are joking, yes? If not, do provide everyone here with a link for a Blu-ray of Around the World in 80 Days. I'm sure everyone here is waiting with great anticipation.
I don't use a spam filter on the account I'm writing from. I've sent it again - we'll see but it's very disheartening - if I need to I will go directly to Universal about it - and that's the address I wrote to.
And I have not. Used the form, sent three e-mails, no response. I will have a "few words about" Universal if I don't get a replacement disc. I was one of the first to e-mail. Then two subsequent e-mails, all with all the information they asked for. I didn't even get the form response from...
Having just read the "reviews" of this set on the other site, I just have to scratch the old cranium, I really do. For Psycho, no mention of the wrong mono track. For Vertigo, no mention of the mono track at all. For The Birds, he calls out several shots of Ms. Hedren that he deems not of the...
You know, I may be thinking of Vertigo in that set not having the original mono and the UK having it? So, why did I buy the UK steelbook of Psycho, then? There must have been a reason since I don't care about steelbooks and I already had the US set?
I think it's very important to be clear that we're speaking about the UK Blu-ray that came out about nine years ago - that has the correct mono track. I'm pretty certain the Masterpiece collection of 2010 did not, which is why I bought the UK. Whether they fixed that problem or not when the US...
Not sure this is quite accurate. My memory is it was not in the Masterpiece set, which is why I bought the UK Blu-ray back then, which definitely had it. I do think they included the original mono mix when the standalone Blu of Psycho was released after the box set.
I'm certain, yes. And the music sounds MUCH better on the original mono track, and that sound mix is superb - the new one has new sfx added that's both unnecessary and irritating - these were added for the the 5.1 mix done a decade ago and they should be put out to pasture. The original mono...
