I'm putting all the stuff I won into MKV so they are easily accessible. I have the mrmc app now on the ATV, and it streams files off the NAS with excellent PQ once I got it all setup properly.
Last Jedi UHD DV. I only have a few, I am just now getting into this movies anywhere, digital copy stuff. It is crazy, they have a huge spreadsheet on how to redeem a digital copy because it is all convoluted lol.
I bought a Synology NAS with two drives, have the ATV, going to put infuse on it...
Apple is nailing down the low latency Sony Dolby Vision, it is really looking great. Another interesting note, people with the same model Yamaha as me, running DV to an LG OLED, cannot use certain on-screen menu overlays, where my Yamaha acts normally with overlays and the low latency version.
Updated and tested. DV passes with Netflix thru my Yamaha A3060 to the 940E, looks good too. Just had to adjust MotionFlow to my liking and set color temp to Expert 1. Also turned on Smooth Gradation. Yamaha on screen overlay even works fine in DV mode.
11.3 public beta is out now if you are on the public betas. One thing for sure is it enables playback of Dolby Vision to Sony displays that got the recent Dolby Vision update.
Now that the ATV has progressed, I dont see using anything else for Amazon and Netflix. PQ is outstanding when scaling Amazon 1080p to the 75" 2160p, and its HDR 2160p Amazon and Netflix look GREAT.
Stuff I watched today on Amazon (1080p tv shows) seemed to all be 5.1 PCM, so I guess it is fixed. Some content is 2.0 anyways, but what should have been 5.1 was 5.1 so far.
According to Amazon cust support its a known bug, I mean the thing just released. The ATV 4K was terrible when it was first released, I'd not go freaking out just yet.
That is one place where it won't affect me which is why I am a little excited. I'm running a 2.2 setup with dual monitors and dual 15" subs. We stay behind and I have like 20 discs in cases just sitting here. The convenience of streaming whenever I want is appealing if the PQ delivers.
I...
I ordered one today, the 64 gig. Might be what gets me away from disc buying. I have been a fan of Vudu UHD, looks great, but their pricing and studio support sucks. Apple just swooped in and fixed all of that. Disney is missing, but I really dont care, Im over their antics of the last year.
Needs Amazon UHD/HDR, Netflix UHD/HDR and confirmed 24hz output before I buy.
Could be a game changer for getting me into streaming new release movies.
