I don't see how raised DV black levels could result in crushed blacks. They're two different problems on opposite ends of the spectrum.

I'm no expert on MFL, having seen the film exactly once many years ago, but in reviewing the titles on the 4K disc it looks to me like these are opticals created using still photographs. If so, it's no wonder they're grainy.

Timestamps would be extremely useful.
