S01E17 has been confirmed to be missing all the sound effects.
This episode also originally had these issues on HBO Max but got fixed. I find it hard to believe that they weren't fully aware that they were putting out the set with this error.
It doesn't look better than the Jetsons, that's ridiculous.
For those who are interested, The Man Called Flintstone is presented in SD only - same with the WWE movie. What a wasted opportunity.
I've shared the comparisons, they speak for themselves. If you want your classic animation to be scrubbed of grain and wish to promote that to others, then that's disappointing to hear.

I mean yeah, it looks fine, but once you see the original HD restoration and how they ruined it, it's just sad. Make sure you look at all 10 screenshots, the scenes vary greatly.
I am, yes. They crammed the episodes onto four BD-25s and applied tons of DNR, destroying the look of the original animation. The unmolested original HD transfers are on Amazon and iTunes and they look beautiful.
Not necessarily. They can scan the most beautiful elements in existence, but if they clean them up too much with heavy DNR and compression, like they did with Scooby-Doo! Where Are You!, we're screwed. The DVDs will probably look better in that scenario.
