My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

It seems they are just trying to keep their liquor license current for when they decide to re-open. If ever they do. However, Decurion keeps everything to their vest and will not indicate what their real plans are.

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

Pacific Theatres still owns the land the Cinerama Dome is located on, but the actual Arclight complex is leased. However the encouraging news is that that location was not included in the bankruptcy as were the rest of the theatres. There is some hope.

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

You are quoting a 2018 post from David. A lot have things have changed since then, for the better. You should have a beautiful blu-ray of the three panel smilebox version in your hands by the spring of 2022 from Warner Archive

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

Every theatre company always knew what their real estate was worth, especially the large number of acres that a drive-in used. The company I worked for sold drive-in theatres in the late 70’s until the mid 80’s to Walmart, car dealerships, schools, apartments, and shopping centers. Three times...

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

I think we need to remember that not only is David Strohmaier working his magic on this release, but Warner Archive is also involved, so I’m sure it will look better than we ever thought it could. I am patiently awaiting the fall release as indicated.

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

I agree how hideous the Laser Disc was but I’ve held on to it for these many years as it was the only way to truly watch it. Waiting tremendously to replace the laser

That’s exactly right. It was confirmed in the other Brother Grimm thread.

Yes I miss understood you on the first post, but you were clear on the correction the second time. I don’t know the answer, but I hope you are able to find it.

I’ll be on a jet plane to Hollywood to see it.

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

Of course it’s not the complete score it’s from what was released on the CD. Geez. I purchased the soundtrack for Search For Paradise from Film Score. I have know idea if it’s bootleg or not but I enjoy it As I do the other CD soundtracks including Holiday In Spain.

I have only found South Seas Adventure as a down load on ITunes. The rest of the Cinerama soundtracks are on CD and can be ordered from Film Score.

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

Thank you David. This is exciting news and I’m looking forward to owning the last 3 strip Cinerama film that has not been released on Blu-ray. I will happily add it to the rest on my shelf. I have to say, that I never in my mind thought that not only would I see the Cinerama titles, let alone...

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

I’m sure these are the reasons the news was not supposed to be let out. All the answers will be disclosed in March or April. With Warner’s taking the lead along with Pacific Theatres, I would expect a smilebox version along with regular version. As with the Cinerama Blu-ray releases and How The...

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

If Mr. Strohmaier is involved, then he is working with the three panels and there will be a smilebox version. He is Mr Smilebox.

The dead horse is that Peter in his first post indicated he saw this at a theatre with the scents. He clarified it in his second post. Now let’s talk about Brothers Grimm. I’m excited that we may see this next year, but I doubt we will see before May or June on Blu.

I sure the tile he was referring to was The Golden Head, such was released on Blu-ray in 2019.

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

Warner’s has past sales numbers for titles sold on DVD and DVDr. I would suppose that those numbers are a major influence on what they release as WAC Blu-ray. I pretty sure they just don’t pull titles from the air.

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

I have all the Cinerama travelogues and none have stars the the caliber and popularity of the ones in WWOBG. Except for a Narrator or two, none were advertised either.

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

Was it the process that was the interest or the film that was of interest. I would suppose it was the process. In the US it was released before HTWWW, so it was the first Cinerama film to tell a story and had well known actors. That to me was what sold tickets. If it was as accepted as HTWWW...

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

I love the film and have the US laserdisc and the recent Spain “bootleg” DVD. But Bruce is correct, it was a flop compared to the the other US Cinerama films and it’s not ecomical to restore and release.

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

Nothing said concerning the damage, cost or Warner’s non interest in WWOBG is speculation. This topic has been discussed for years, or at least since HTWWW was released on Blu and by many experts in the know. I do hope you can change the minds of those in control, but I’m very doubtful.

My 2 cents worth on “Brothers Grimm”

Not gonna happen. It’s a Warner title and they are not interested.
