One has nothing to do with the other.
CBS controls the Trek TV library and they've been doing great work. They've preserved TOS in HD, got it in a new syndication package, got it into theaters. They put out a very successful new syndication deal for TNG a couple of years ago. They just got all...
There's plenty of explanations.
Khan and Co. were all genetically engineered, and have much longer lifespans than a regular human. The rest of the crew aren't necessarily as young as they look, and in reality it's Khan that looks too old- for understandable reasons.

So I just sent in a release for some of my artwork that's suppose to be included in the special features on one (some?) of these flicks? They weren't very clear.
You know what, I have no idea what you're asking. LOL.
I thought you were asking what we thought of the pricing for these new Blurays. I don't even remember what I payed for the DVD's.
Excellent news all around.
Nicholas, I don't see how anyone could claim these are overpriced. For the Movie Box Sets you're looking at what, $15 max per title in actual costs? Closer to $11 with a good deal. And the TOS set is half what the HD-DVD pricing was.
...Edited because I realized I said something I really really really shouldn't have and even if you got to read it before I edited it you won't currently understand why I shouldn't have said it so don't go trying to figure it out or anything and if you do figure it out don't report me!
Paramount's choices in restoration all come down to money, and I'm sure Trek makes them enough to justify reasonable expenditure. I expect the Blu's to look good, not necessarily as good as they possibly could, but good none the less.
Idealy Roddenberry envisioned the people of the 23rd century, at least on earth, to be free from religion. Obviously at the time you couldn't just come out and say we're all atheists in the future, so the best they could do was ignore it.
The few times "god" was mentioned on TOS directly...
No, at the end of the day the director's cut is Director Robert Wise's true version of the film. It's not some trivial anomaly like a television cut stitched together to help pad in some commercials.
The trek movies were never overpriced on DVD, it's not the same as the TV sets-- not even the same distributor. They get priced the same as every other Paramount catalog title.
Firefly (and Enterprise for that matter) was produced in HD but the SFX work was rendered in SD, and so it will be softer when viewed on Bluray. A very similar approach could be taken with TMP's director' cut and I wouldn't mind all that much, though I would prefer them to go back and do things...
You'll see the DC again someday Travis. At the very least Paramount could spend pretty much nothing and just upscale the existing material into an HD print. That probably doesn't sound great to many but it's really not that big of a deal, I don't think there was more than a minute or so of new...
Sounds great to me. I-- like most-- prefer the Directors Cut of TMP but the theatrical version was never even released on DVD so this is the first time it will have been made available in years. I'll hope for the Director's Cut down the line, and gladly get both.
In a way it almost gives me a...
I don't see how it's any different from releasing over 20 James Bond movies within a year. I could easily see them releasing 5 in may and 5 in the fall for instance.
To his credit Shatner has always accepted his share of the blame for STV, and rightly so. It was his first film and he didn't quite know what he was doing. There are problems with every film, studios always try to interfere; dealing with these issues and seeing your vision through to the end is...
