Sure, but watching the film in 1979, the effects never felt unfinished. In fact, along with the score, they were probably the best thing in the film. I appreciate the dedication and effort that went into the creation of the new effects, and they're certainly an improvement over the 2001 version...

I still don't understand the need to add new effects to this. I wish they had just re-composited the originals digitally and left it at that.
