Aric, So not true... but if you're not familiar with high def encodings for DVD-R I suppose I had no place mentioning it here. Most people archive the HD transport streams to WMV-HD keeping the full resolution intact. If you care to learn more there are hundreds of threads at the AVS forums...

I have no source for blank tapes. The most logical thing to archive recorded transport streams is to capture it via firewire to a PC then convert it to WMV-HD to store on DVD-R.

An "A" for effort from me to them! Agreed on that point.

HOLY CRAP!! :) Where did you find this info so I can confirm it? I just bought 9 D-Theater movies and my JVC is arriving tomorrow. I am so excited that Fox didn't abandon the format!

Just reviving the thread. I would love to see more activity here as I am about to get D-Theater soon. I posted in another forum with no luck but is there a good source of reviews on D-Theater titles BESIDES Widescreen Review? There has to be another place on the net that has something to say...
