It wouldn't really matter in regards to the sound format. The negatives would be 65mm and wouldn't contain recorded sound anyway. Only the final 70mm positive print would contain both magnetic sound and picture on the same piece of film.

"Shane" is also the Ulster pronunciation of "Sean" and there were definitely historical Anglo and Irish "Shanes" before the movie came out, mostly because of the wave of Irish immigrants that came to America in the middle 1800's. Robert's right though, the name really seems to have "taken off"...

For what it's worth (and although the cut is unfortunate and unlikely to be corrected) I still, as a fan of the movie, am glad to have it otherwise looking so good on blu-ray. I realize individual mileage may vary but that's my two cents!
