7) Detour (1945) Criterion Blu
A piano player (Tom Neal) hitch hikes across the country to see his girlfriend in L.A. but runs into Ann Savage on the way. A very short movie, if it was any shorter it wouldn't be a feature.
5) Vertigo (1958) UHD Blu
A unhappily married man hires an old acquaintance ( James Stewart) to follow a doppelganger of his wife (Kim Novak) to provide a basis for thinking the future murder of his wife is a suicide.
Not one of my favorite Hitchcock films but still good. I prefer both...
4) High Sierra (1941) Criterion Blu

2) The Maltese Falcon (1941) - HBO Max
The film where Humphrey Bogart, Mary Astor, and two other cast members of Casablanca search for a MacGuffin.
3) To Have and Have Not (1944) - HBO Max
Bogart and Bacall star in an action/musical/noir set in occupied France during WWII. Now I finally know...

1) Double Indemnity (1944)- Criterion 4K
I decided to start with one of the oldest and most important Noirs, the gripping tale of Murder, infidelity, betrayal, deep regret, and insurance fraud.
