60% drop off from opening weekend. Not good but not quite disastrous.

This movie is being shown 1.85:1 everywhere so it would only be able to switch to anything taller in the IMAX theaters that can show 1.4:1. Switching to 1.9:1 wouldn't do anything.

Common complaints are that it is a shot by shot remake but without the emotion from the original. Both the facial expressions and voice acting flourishes are cut back extensively.

Critical response probably isn't what Disney was expecting 63% with 43 reviews counted.

I was at the theater today and some little girl was pointing at the poster and said that this is the new version with real animals. I sure hope people don't think they actually have real animals in this movie.

I agree that Scar was terrible.

And I'm pretty sure that this one is 100% CGI.

I liked the trailer but it did look way too much like a shot by shot remake.
