I also like the Apple TV remote. I usually use it instead of my harmony to control the Apple TV. It also has a handy volume control that controls the receiver.
I wouldn't judge HBO's streaming quality at a time when millions of people were watching the same file at once and as Worth said it was an episode that was terrible to compress.
And it turns out that the person who that happened to moved to a different country or something and not all of the movies followed over when switching countries in iTunes. It wasn't a typical situation.
Keep in mind that if your TV doesn't do HDR at 60hz the AppleTV will say it can't do it. If you set it up to match content source then it will display HDR correctly at 24hz.
This is the first 4K capable streaming device I have owned and I definitely think that the image quality from apple purchases and 4k Netflix programs is better than from HD Blu-Ray. Apple has a non HDR 4K version of The Wrath of Khan which looks very good. I wish Paramount would use this...
My AppleTV 4K finally arrived today. For whatever reason it wouldn't work in 4K HDR 60p mode with my TV but I was able to get it to work at 4K HDR 24p.
The automatic SDR to HDR conversion is terrible, I put on an episode of The Great Food Truck Race and it made my set look like it was in torch...
Anyone else having problems accessing previously purchased Movies and TV Shows on their existing Apple TV's? It keeps telling me that I have no purchased titles. I noticed that they just released TVOS 11 so I updated and still the same problem. Hopefully they are just updating their servers...
I didn't see it changed when Cranston originally said that but at least the DCEU and X-Men series movies are changed for me now. Maybe they are rolling out the changes right now and they aren't finished for everyone yet.
They specified that it would be supported in Amazon. They didn't mention Vudu at all, but they added the app a week or two ago. And yes, only codes and purchases made on iTunes. I'm pretty sure the NHL app is available on this device.
They showed clips in 4K/HDR from Spiderman homecoming so titles will probably start rolling in when the new apple tv ships on September 22.
Btw, they say that they will support both HDR10 and DV. Also, Disney was missing from the studio logos they showed providing content.
