Most of the youtubers I watch are actual critics and are carried by rotten tomatoes. Most of them seemed to either like the movie or be fairly neutral. They didn't go on talking about agendas.
At the time they were writing the script for Dial of Destiny they probably had no idea at all that Ke Huy Quan was coming back to acting from his long retirement. If they wanted to use short round they might have re-cast him.
Apparently there was a story when Disney acquired Lucasfilm that they reached a deal with Paramount to distribute Indiana Jones film. So Paramount probably gets their logo on the movie and some money.
I thought this was an enjoyable Indiana Jones movie without anything nearly as bad as the fridge scene or the Tarzan scene from Crystal Skull. I thought the de-aging was probably the best I've seen so far.
I would rank the movies in this franchise as:
1. Raiders
2. Last Crusade
3. Dial of...
I could see it ending up in the 70%+ range. I don't see this movie appealing to critics attending the Cannes Film festival which is the only place this movie was show so far. Other critics might like it better.
I had a very big crowd for a Fathom Event. 60% - 70% full. They showed a Dial of Destiny featurette and trailer before the movie started. No speech about the film or featurettes after movie.
Definitely looks like it was a DCP to me, picture was great, just slightly dim.
I see Raiders theatrically every what seems like 2 years or so. I saw Last Crusade once and Temple of Doom never theatrically. And of course I saw Crystal Skull when it was released.
