Saw this on ARS Technica this morning and thought of this thread...
https://arstechnica.com/culture/2023/11/after-decades-lost-star-treks-original-enterprise-model-may-have-been-found/
EDIT: I belatedly see that Nelson posted about this earlier; oopsy. Anyway this is ARS Technica's take on...
Scott pretty much cleaned up on those last two posts. Well done. I was thinking that Conscience of the King would be a good candidate for this question, but you snooze you lose. :)

Some occasions that spring to mind where murder is cited...
Wolf in the Fold is the most obvious choice.
I think that Kirk uses the 'm' word when talking to Dr. Daystrom in The Ultimate Computer
Not as sure about this one, but doesn't McCoy accuse Kirk of murder for allowing Edith Keeler to die...
If you follow the links to some other pages, they describe how it was originally planned with Kirk appearing in a video recording (from the past). I don't know if that is still the plan or if they are going use time travel, perhaps a seance? - to make Kirk appear.

Scott - My question relates to the "other" context for the title of episode 39. Does it relate to my question regarding color / winter? Thanks.
My reasoning below in spoilers:
- Walter.
I have another interpretation that isn't that thrilling, but based on my track record I'm probably wrong. I've been looking at other episode titles but haven't found a likely match as of yet.
By the way, looking at one of the wiki pages for The Wild Wild West there were an impressive number of...
Perhaps I mis-interpreted the instructions myself. Deadly is such a strong adjective that I went with the assumption that it was the shared word. I went through a few of the SF/action/adventure series from the sixties and stumbled onto the title. There were three episodes of The Wild Wild West...
I may have a match...
Star Trek TOS: The Deadly Years becomes
The Wild Wild West: The Night of the Deadly Bed.
This episode (Deadly Bed) has the following guest stars:
Barbara Luna who guest starred in the TOS episode Mirror, Mirror.
Bill Catching who guest starred in the TOS episode The...
When you start looking at guest stars, you realize just how prolific some of these folks were and just how many shows they took part in over the years. Kind of boggles the mind, in some ways.
I found two Trek guest stars from separate episodes that were featured on another program, but the...
Hard to believe that it has been nearly half a century. Damn, I'm old. :( :)
I know that I watched some of the first season on NBC, but I honestly cannot remember if I was there from day one or not. I believe so, but I can't be certain.
I think I've related this anecdote before, but back...
I'm thinking about it, but I've got nothing. :)
Since I am more of a casual participant, if anyone else has something they would like to offer, please do so.
- Walter.
These episodes immediately come to mind...
Patterns of Force - Lots of firearms brandished by the Ekosian soldiers as I recall. (Lugers were brandished IIRC.)
Bread and Circuses - The away team beams up as the Romans unload on them with machine gun fire.
Tomorrow is Yesterday - Pretty sure...
Scott - Not really. I couldn't remember the carbon reference so it eluded me.
Nelson - I knew that salt = sodium chloride (NaCl) but I had to look up the atomic numbers.
- Walter.
We have a winner!
One of the few substances whose formula I can readily name is salt. NaCl (Sodium with an atomic number of 11 and Chloride with an atomic number of 17.) Similar in some respects to Scott's question 4 - Carbon with an atomic mass of 12.011
- Walter.
Scott, thanks. Honestly when I read that numbers were going to be the basis for a quiz related to The Man Trap it was the very first thing that popped into my head. I checked the various posted numbers and when I didn't see them; I decided to post my little addition.
It is not a date / star...
I'm not certain how to give a hint that isn't a dead giveaway. Each of the numbers in and of itself doesn't relate to the episode, but the combination is important. And I don't mean the number 28.
- Walter.
The 15xx.x series refers to various stardates in the Captain's log.
In the spirit of the game, I offer up the numbers 11 and 17. Anyone care to answer how they relate to this episode? :)
- Walter.
If there is any doubt Nelson, then strike And the Children Shall Lead. It's not like there are big prizes at stake. :)
Just occasionally participating in a thread in which I am usually out of my depth, compared to the regulars, regarding all things Star Trek.
- Walter.
I have absolutely no idea if this is the episode, Scott - but googling 'Columbo captain' returns a hit for an episode Troubled Waters with Patrick Macnee as Capt. Gibbons. In this episode, a murder takes place aboard a cruise ship on which Columbo and the Mrs. are vacationing and he is enlisted...
