A friend of mine saw that print and said it's noticeably fading and also showing significant wear around all the reel changes, and apparently the "soft subtitles" are rather shoddy. Given that the Synapse restoration as available as a 4K DCP, I'm surprised this print is still being booked.

The 96/24 4-channel track on SUSPIRIA really is a revelation. There are all sorts of little details and nuances to the soundtrack that I'd never noticed before that come through crystal-clear here, not to mention the surround mix itself which is a doozy.

The extras amount to over 90-minutes, all in HD, and the 4-channel track on the feature will be 96/24 resolution which eats up a lot of space. And potential "bare bones" version will NOT be a single disc with everything crammed onto it.

Most Synapse titles are carried by Amazon and other on-line retailers who ship overseas, as well. There are only a few titles that are limited to direct-sale from Synapse themselves.

They could easily cut together a submaster matching the American version on their own, the only bit of "new" footage they'd need to scan would be the alternate American "breathing" main title. Actually, an HD master of the American version already exists. It's aired a few times in HD over the...
