Yep, I have DirecTV and I hear lots of distortion too in the surrounds with DPL II and more so with Circle Surround. As Richard has pointed out though, it can vary greatly depending on the channel. I've found that DPL II works best for movies on HBO and Showtime that are broadcast in DD 2.0. Vin
