Universal isn't pulling the existing copies so any purchase will have the incorrect disc until they finally get through their existing stock. After that, I assume they'll start using the corrected discs but I'd imagine that could take years.

The only way that I'd see Psycho as deserving of an R rating is if movies were rated as to the age range that might be interested in a particular picture. A 13 year old that has been watching modern day horror movies isn't going to watch Psycho whether it's rated G or NC-17 so its rating is...

I must have seen Psycho when I was 10 or 11 and I definitely saw things like Halloween and Friday The 13th when I was 8 or 9... This might explain some things about me.

That's true but at the same time, I've seen plenty of discs with problems over the years and the companies just say everything is fine or ignore the complaints or fix it on the next release that they sell so that Universal is replacing the discs and correcting their mistake deserves some credit...

Has any Vertigo DVD or Blu-ray had the mono on it? I thought there was maybe one DVD that had it but that 5.1 remix and the obviously new sound effects has pretty much been the standard since the dawn of DVD.

Never say never but I think you can bet the farm that the documentary will be exactly the same as it was. They're just going to port over the material from the previous release with zero thought about its content.

Spielberg MIGHT have the clout to get the MPAA to give it a PG-13 today but yeah, pretty much anyone else would end up with an R on Jaws now because of the blood when Quint dies. Editing a few seconds would probably get it down to PG-13 though.

Blood or graphic violence gets an R rating today, not bloodless violence. They kill mountains of people in comic book movies but there's no blood so unless it's something deliberately R rated like Deadpool or Joker, they get a PG-13. Psycho would absolutely get a PG-13 if Universal bothered to...

My usual cynicism dictates that I think this will just be the original Blu-ray so they can get rid of existing stock. I'd love to be wrong since I don't have 4K yet.
