Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I can't wait for when I'm in public and someone sneezes and I just go back to thinking "Gross" rather than wondering how many people I'll have to push out of my way if I make a mad dash for the door.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I'll point out again that those numbers are even more frightening when you consider that it'll take about 9 months for the Coronavirus to do that but the Civil War and WWII were over the course of about 4 years.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I'd agree with you if it was April but it's basically the middle of August so there's no confusion about masks any more. People are well aware of the recommendation of wearing them and are either following the advice or just ignoring it at this point.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

That's almost unfathomable to me. New York is the center of the media so there was alot of coverage when they were at their worst and they were the epicenter at the beginning when this was at its scariest so NY really sticks out as the worst point of this pandemic to me so it's hard to imagine...

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

Despite my college degree, I remain a huge dummy and that there's alot of people dumber than me out there is frightening.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

People's inability to take in new information and the accompanying ability to refuse to admit being wrong no matter what science says is the most amazing thing out of all of this to me. I guarantee that early on in one these threads, I said how I'd never wear a mask. However as this went on, I...

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

It's worth noting that WWII and the Civil War took about four years to hit those numbers and COVID will most likely get to half or a third of the dead in those wars in only about one year.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

Which is staggeringly fucking dumb. Science doesn't have a political affiliation. Excuse me, it shouldn't have a political affiliation.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

It's as horrifyingly simple as they don't care about other people and they've got echo chambers (social media and news outlets) that tells them that their fucked up attitude is acceptable and even commendable.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

Yeah, if I get it, I'm young enough and healthy enough that statistically speaking, I will likely survive. However, I'm not a completely selfish asshole so I don't want to risk giving it to some old lady and putting her in the dirt.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I honestly don't think that some people will admit that they're wrong at this point. They could be stepping over bodies in the streets and they'll just pretend it wasn't what it obviously was.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I think they're likely to find out about it pretty soon.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

Hell, the way things have been going, I wish I was a bot.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

Ultimately I think for alot of people, it's all about location and a lack of empathy. If bodies are piled up in the streets somewhere that they aren't, it's not really that big of a deal. If it's happening around them and people that they know are dropping out then it's a serious situation.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I don't want to sound like I'm saying "I hope so" to something that terrible but I hope that if things gets bad, people and the government are willing to go the hell back home.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I suppose at a certain point that a reclosure would have to happen but I think that closing down again is essentially admitting that reopening wasn't the right move so the number of dead will have to be so high that it's a horror to even consider.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

And once the economy is reopened, there's zero chance that they'll shut down it again so people will have to go to work no matter what the potential consequences.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

Violent crime usually has a fairly large increase in the cities in the summer. This year, multiple cities are going to be knee deep in blood because people will be on edge due to lack of jobs, the heat and the virus & all that entails.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

Not that you're wrong but it's worth noting that the country shut down for two months and there was still 90,000 (and counting) deaths. If we had been going about business as usual like we do when the flu is at its peak, the death toll would been so high that it could have been measured In...

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I can't speak for Tino but Since it was widely seen that way, was highly criticized and no excuse or "What he really meant was..." was even generated, I take my interpretation as the correct one.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I can guess that there's about 90,000 people that would disagree if they weren't too dead to take issue with that assessment.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

It reads to me as someone who really, really wants the number of cases to drop and thinks that by not testing, all of the unreported cases somehow don't exist.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

If we didn't prosecute criminals, we'd have a low crime rate. Seems pretty smart.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

That's the biggest reason why they're working round the clock to get something to fight this. First drug company to get a decent vaccine out there is a hero and their stock goes through the roof because they'll be making more money than can even be imagined.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

Yeah, there's certain people that if they told me the sky was blue, I'd look out the window to make sure. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 18,000 times, shame on me.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

That sounds just like my steady doubts of the women that don't tell me that I'm more handsome than Brad Pitt or George Clooney. Oh well, my point is that it's everyone else that's wrong and not that I'm ugly.

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I don't know what you're seeing but I'm always suspicious of before and after photos of any kind. They get the best looking picture and contrast it with the worst possible shot they can find. Even with selfies, people have a tendency to try to look like they're about to die to show how messed up...

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I don't think anyone making a vaccine would deliberately mislead anyone. However, the guidelines are there for a reason and the consequences could be terrible if the proper timetable and testing isn't observed.
  29. TravisR

Is it time to talk about coronavirus?

I'd take my chances with the coronavirus over taking an undertested vaccine made in less than six months. Two years from now, everyone who took it will have their foot fall off or something because they didn't properly test it.
