    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

For Canucks, the 2 Blu-ray + 1 CD set can be had, starting at $57.96 CDN via Canadian Amazon Marketplace: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/offer-listing/B01576X9J0/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new CHEERS! :)

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Sam! For what it's worth, in my opinion, the original Black & White "All You Need Is Love" should have at least been offered as an option, if not the default. CHEERS! :) Tony

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Yet Amazon Canada stubbornly sticks to their $69.99 price point, even as their Marketplace Vendors with UK addresses are offering it up in the lower 60's!

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Brian! My understanding was that although the 'Our World' broadcast of 'All You Need Is Love' was in Black & White, that it was also simultaneously shot in color, no? I ask this, because it's been my assumption that any extra visual trickery was limited to the videos for the then new...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi David! While this fall marks the 20th Anniversary of THE BEATLES: ANTHOLOGY 3 part broadcasts, next year also marks the 20th anniversary of the VHS/Laserdisc sets, both of which were significant expansions (Or more accurately, the broadcasts were the rather condensed form!) of these...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Brian! I agree with all of the above. Just when I thought I couldn't be any more pissed off over the Canadian Amazon pricing, I just discovered they added another $5 to the single Blu-ray, which is now listed at $29.99. In addition, ALL of the new related Beatles 1 stock is listed as...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Brian! Here's a link to an August 2014 article by Mark Hurwitz that details A HARD DAY'S NIGHT'S 4K Restoration for the 50th Anniversary Criterion Blu-Ray/DVD Release, that includes reference to Richard Lester's having to adjust Film Camera speed to 25 f.p.s. for TV Monitor filming...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Douglas! No worries! Truth be told, I'm fairly P.O.'d over the outrageous pricing on Amazon.ca, coupled with the general lack of availability of the deluxe set anywhere in Canada. If they're going to have the cheek to charge so bloody much for the 2 Blu-ray + 1 CD set, then at least...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Has anyone outside of the U.S. received their pre-orders for the 2 Blu-ray + 1 CD version? CHEERS! :)

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Russell! Insofar as the current unreasonably high pricing as listed on Amazon.ca, I'm not quite sure who to blame for this. My reasoning behind that statement, is the fact that I haven't been able to locate any other Canadian vendors carrying the deluxe version, even though numerous other...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Russell! In my opinion, the only compromise should have been to normalize the overall volume levels. These legendary tracks were recorded over a span of 7 years, not 7 months! They can't be expected to sound like they're off of one album, nor should they be massaged to sound that way...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Brian! Based on your post, and other recent ones, I'm leaning more towards just purchasing the single Blu-ray, especially if the price for the deluxe version doesn't markedly decrease on any of the Canadian based vendors, assuming that any other than Amazon.ca even picks it up! I'm...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Just some observations on the day of the release of the various incarnations of THE BEATLES 1: Amazon Canada is still charging the ridiculously high $69.99 price tag for the 2 Blu-ray + 1 CD set. To alternatively get the 2 DVD + 1 CD set instead only knocks $5 off of this decidedly high price...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

I think my best hope of getting the 2 Blu-ray + 1 CD version at a better price down the road will either be from Amazon Marketplace or perhaps a Brick & Mortar Outlet! Amazon Canada still hasn't budged from their ridiculous $69.99 price tag! Some bloody incentive! :P Ah well! CHEERS! :)
  15. Tony Bensley

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

And I thought Amazon Canada's pricing on Beatles stuff was out of whack! 6 Bob Dylan CD's with a pre-order price of $256.99? Words escape me, here! :P
  16. Tony Bensley

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Russell! Are those Dylan sets out of print, by chance? When it comes to the Beatles, it seems that unless it's one of their in print Movies, Amazon Canada's price points tend to border on the absurd, if not completely cross over! Sorry to fellow HTF members for my bellyaching, but I've...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Stephen! What I got really upset about was when Amazon Canada jacked up the price to an unreasonable (In my opinion!) $69.99, especially as it was at the same time it's price was marked down on the U.S. counterpart! In fact, that really pissed me off, to tell you the truth! I mean, even...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

With the pricing for the single Blu-ray at $24.99 on Amazon Canada, you'd think they'd have the 2 Blu-ray + 1 CD version for something less than their initial $55.99, let alone $69.99? I mean, COME ON! :P CHEERS! :)
  19. Tony Bensley

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

I decided to cancel my pre-order for the deluxe set, as it's sadly, just a bit too pricey on Amazon Canada (Even at the original $55.99, now is $69.99!) for my liking! :P Unless I can score a better deal down the road, I'll likely just settle for the single Blu-ray Disc, as it's much more...

I read that also, Mike! Like I said, lip reading can be a tricky business! ;) CHEERS! :)

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Big thanks for MacTex for providing the YouTube links, a few posts above! :) The sound mix for "I Feel Fine" sounds really good, and "Hello, Goodbye" sounds great (I don't recall ever hearing a bad mix of that track!), as always! As a fun aside, I noticed that some of the YouTube comments...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

I got a little excited in seeing the reduced U.S. Amazon price points posted by Mike a few posts above. Then, I checked Amazon Canada, where to my dismay, I found the pre-order price has actually increased from $55.99 to $69.99! :P As it stands, I might be able to squeeze out enough funds to...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi jcroy! Unfortunately, "She Loves You" is one of the early tracks, for which the real stereo version is no longer known to be extant. I do agree that original mono is preferable to fake, rechannelled stereo! CHEERS! :) Tony
  24. Tony Bensley

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

I may be in the minority in that I'm actually partial to the stereo recordings. My understanding has been that most of The Beatles early recordings were made in 2 track direct stereo, as George Martin referred to it in THE COMPLEAT BEATLES video some 33 years ago! Regarding the original #1...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Anthony! Their Melbourne concerts also marked Ringo's return, as Jimmy Nichol had performed the previous engagements while he was convalescing due to tonsillitis! I agree that separate Blu-ray audio and video would have been fantastic. CHEERS! :) Tony

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

I agree that the trailer looks great, but I FEEL FINE is still missing the echo reverb, as it also does on the original BEATLES 1 CD issue, and DAY TRIPPER sounds to my ears like it still has it, instead! :P Great overall presentation, nevertheless! CHEERS! :)
  27. Tony Bensley

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Douglas! Truth be told, insofar as the I FEEL FINE and DAY TRIPPER tracks, I'm more familiar with how they sounded on the Red Album compilation LP, and much later, The Beatles Reissued to CD Stereo Version, UK Catalogue LP's. For what it's worth, these collectively sound proper to my ears...

    The Beatles: 1 (Blu-ray Audio/Video)

Hi Douglas! I agree that it seems pretty unlikely we'll see any LET IT BE Movie Reissue in Paul & Yoko's lifetime! THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY, on the other hand, was a far more agreeable, well balanced project, that I would love to see issued to Blu-ray! Regarding the original BEATLES 1 CD, it...
