To be fair, I believe the plagarized information was true enough on the date of that article's emergence, as talks were widely reported to have stalled between Disney and Fox around that time.
CHEERS! :)
Shouldn't the Disney/20th Century Fox merger cancel out Disney wanting to wait until 2020 for the rights to the sequels and prequels to shift over? Would the successful conclusion of the said merger not give Disney immediate effective ownership of the six pre Disney Star Wars titles?
Edit...
While definitely not encouraging, top studio executives later doing an about face is hardly unheard of. I'd take Kathleen Kennedy's bombshell with a grain of salt.

Although we haven't viewed it in many years, I'm quite pleased just knowing that our E.T. THE EXTRA TERRESTRIAL 2 DVD set (With the 1.33:1 Framing--UGH!) from 2002 also includes the original Theatrical version in its OAR! :)
I also agree that the nature of HD presentations occasionally...
I might have seen this once a long time ago. That IS so hilarious, I still can't stop laughing! :)
Thank you very much for sharing this, Sam!

Hi Travis!
While I agree that your question is a good one, I'm also thinking that assuming a meeting between Mike Verta and Disney is happening, then I tend to assume somebody representing the latter is at the very least, open to hearing some input in regards to restoring the original unaltered...
Hi Dave!
Do these "Original" audio options exclude the post 1983 dialogue revisions, such as Darth Vader's "Noooooooo!" by chance?

Oops, it appears I slightly misremembered that last bit for RETURN OF THE JEDI, in which Obi Wan and Yoda are indeed, present!
Definitely bring back the old Anakin! :)
CHEERS! :)
Hi Robert!
The Anakin switcheroo was precisely what I had in mind, though in my opinion, the location celebrations were also unnecessary. I mean, geez, you don't even have to view the original to KNOW Anakin's presence is just plain wrong! That just sticks out like a bloody sore thumb! :P...
Hi Robert!
I believe it's the modified ending of RETURN OF THE JEDI that's generally considered to be the greatest sacrilege committed in the entire revised first STAR WARS Trilogy (It's certainly the most painfully obvious!), and I'm inclined to agree!

It's the late Roger Ebert's listed "Principle of Evil Marksmanship" at play, though I get what you're saying! :)

Hi Brian!
At least even the 2 Disc 2002 DVD version included the original Theatrical cut in 1.85:1 Aspect, I believe. We still have that "Full Screen" monstrosity version, and for me, the inclusion of the original cut is of great comfort, these days!
I honestly don't think it's too much to...
Hi Josh!
Maybe not, but I think you have to concede that such changes, as the replacement of puppets with CGI effects, and the who shot who first bit, amount to significantly more than a few digitally brushed out wires!

Insofar as minor fixes, I'm on the fence in regards to whether or not they should be employed. While on the one hand, it is technically tinkering with the original presentation (Admittedly, aways a cause for a bit of uneasiness, on my part!), I...
