I see, thanks! Unfortnately, for some reason, the "sticky" section doesn't show up on my screen -- either it's the fact I'm using a very small smartphone since my Acer laptop carked it recently (a new one isn't in the budget just yet) w/ minimal screen area, or it's just not loading right -- so...
Wish the other thread were pinned or otherwise appended to this one. For some reason -- save for when it gets bumped, ofcourse -- I often have trouble locating it (yes, incl. in 'search').
Code Red is a label I have always associated with horror films, euro-exploitation etc., so it seems rather odd this film will be coming from them and not Kino Lorber. That said, I'm glad just to see it getting a HD release, ofcourse. I'm hopeful (though not much) the film will finally get a...
Huh.. Unless there's some odd stigma about working with "third party labels", or they wanted too much $$, or they just didn't have time, I don't quite get that. Sure, it's their right.
Maybe they think you guys are (to quote Lennie Briscoe/Jerry Orbach on "Law & Order") Communist spies or...
I confess I was speaking semi--ironically/ deadpan--style. Note I did say "for whatever theyre worth" (meaning I'm not without doubt). Just so it's known, I did not say that out of disrespect to the Insider or admin. Hope that makes sense.
That said, Im not above admitting I can be forgetful...
So, to make sure Im understanding correctly, we can still ask about title "possibilities", or make suggestions (for whatever theyre worth), we just can't ask if a certain title is definitely coming/is confirmed etc or, say, ask about details of a licensing deal which (as in most legal matters)...
Mr. Phillips' art is very good & would be great if used for the series set. It would also further "link" the two properties (which are, ofcourse, owned by two different studios).
My personal favorite "Kolchak" cover art is that used by MGM for their double--feature DVD. Apparently I'm not alone...
Still waiting for updates on
"Coogans Bluff" and "Gambit" (assuming nothing has gone wrong concerning either). I realise Insider can only say so much until all is finalized...
Man, I was "totalmente" confused (until now [hopefully]) considering your update had stated "New color grading applied to both the extended version & theatrical version. The color-grading will now be consistent between both versions" (or very similar words), etc.
So I take it the extended...
Any chance you will eventually reissue the standalone Blu-ray (containing both versions, ideally) with the new color-grading for those of us who do not have UHD 4k players or displays?
Speaking of Western classics, any chance "WALK LIKE A DRAGON" (1960, Jack Lord, Nobu McCarthy, James Shigeta, Mel Torme) may be among your future announcements?
AFAIK, this one has never been released on disc or videocassette.
Since KL has already released "Company Business" (1991), any chance of these other 2 Nicholas Meyer-penned classics(?):
Judge Dee And the Monastery Murders (1974)
The Seven Percent Solution (1976)
Happy holly(wood)days
STill a bit displeased w/ myself for failing to acquire Shout's "The Sicilian" Bluray while still in print-- if mostly because I have yet to find a copy for under $100 on Ebay or Amazon, nor from any of the bargain/closeout sites I know of --- so I am hoping Kino will pick this one up/ announce...
Hello K.L.I.,
ANY chance any of the following (1 or 2 of which have probably been asked about before) might be on Kino's radar in the nearer future?
MARAT/SADE (1966)
FLOWER DRUM SONG (1961)
WALK LIKE A DRAGON (1960) Jack Lord, Mel Torme
A GUNFIGHT (1969) Kirk Douglas, Johnny Cash
DESPERATE...
Ugh! This 'would' happen after the struggle (partly due to a malfunctioning computer) I put up to get my order in at the 11th hour.. :>]
Anyway, my haul thus far:
KOTCH
KILLER FORCE (DVD) (I often go with DVD if the Blu lacks subtitles + if it saves me a buck)
TRIGGER JR.
HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW...
Hello KLInsider, any chance any these 4 Western classics may be within Kino's upcoming "range"?
GUNMAN's WALK (1958) Van Heflin, Tab Hunter (unless this is still with SONY)
WINCHESTER '73 (1950) James Stewart
DESTRY RIDES AGAIN (1939) James Stewart, Marlene Dietrich
WATERHOLE #3 (1967)...
Apart from the facial expression, this artwork puts me very much in mind of the U.S. poster art for "RAY" (starring Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles) - and I LIKE it (both, that is)..
Hello KLI, any chance any of the following titles may appear on KINO's horizon in the nearer future? Thanx anyway.
AND GOD SAID TO CAIN (E DIO DISSE A CAINO) (1970) Klaus Kinski (previously released as now-OOP DVD from Wild East)
OUR MAN FLINT (1966) Previously issued on Blu by Twilight Time...
