Vudu used to be the go-to PVOD retailer for those who didn't have an Apple TV 4K device. With the Apple TV app now available on non-Apple devices, and all of the recent issues with Vudu, the company has lost their competitive edge.

Well, I finally got a response to my letters to Fandango's CEO, Paul Yanover, and have a call scheduled this week with VP of Content, Cameron Douglas. I'll let you all know how that conversation goes.

I think many of us need to call Vudu out on this FAQ statement from their website: If this were true, then why are some movies only in stereo on Vudu when they were in 5.1 on FN? Why are some movies cropped in the wrong aspect ratio on Vudu when they were in their director-intended aspect...

I'm sending a letter (yes, a letter) to CEO Paul Yanover of Fandango today, since they completely F'd this merger up unnecessarily, and the lack of response or follow-thru so far has been unacceptable.

And you likely won't.

Vudu's support is severely backlogged due to thousands of other customers having similar issues. My ticket is over a month old and it hasn't even been assigned to a Tier 2 agent yet.

I would try either clearing the cache in your browser or try a different browser.

None of my issues have been corrected yet, other than those I reported as fixed on 8/9.

I'm having a similar issue with Leon: The Professional (the official name of the extended cut). Vudu shows I own the UHD, shows the UHD should playback in 4K only, but plays in HDX. When I go to select the resolution I want to watch, only HDX and SD are available. Both Labyrinth and Bridge on...

I had originally contacted Vudu about those three earlier this week.

Well, it seems, although slowly but surely (and please don't call me Shirley), that Vudu is fixing these issues! Late yesterday, both Labyrinth and Bridge on the River Kwai are back in my library in UHD with HDR10 and Atmos, and this morning my HDX version of Collateral is now in DD 5.1!!

This could be the best time to lodge these sorts of complaints with Vudu, since in most cases FandangoNow actually had the corrected versions (OAR, audio, etc) of these movies that have been wrong for well over a decade and ignored by Vudu.

Apparently, some executive thought it would be better to work out any licensing issues on Vudu after customers' libraries were merged. This lack of forward thinking has now jammed the phone lines at both Vudu and FandangoNow, and both companies' social media pages have lit up like a Christmas...

Apparently the Vudu servers are strained beyond capacity, as my app has been struggling to load most of the day and keeps crashing. What a complete cluster f***.

Per Vudu Support: Oh, boy.... That was not thought through particularly well.....

This is due to Vudu having an inferior version on their service compared to what FandangoNow had.
