I loved it. Better in every way than both recent MCU Spidey films I thought.

I took the picture at my local Best Buy. It was on the big display and right next to it was the exact same sign with “nominee” instead of winner.

Intentional yes. Successfully done I disagree. It ( the blurry, yes blurry backgrounds) was very distracting to me and took me out of the film when I noticed it. Which was often. But still an amazing film.

It’s in the 2D version too. I saw both. Go back a few pages in this thread to when it first opened and you’ll see the posts describing and explaining the issue.

It’s the former. 100% intentional as I unfortunately found out.

The background were absolutely blurred in my two showings in IMAX 2D and a RealD showing. And even some foreground shots. Not all shots but many.

Agree. The blurry backgrounds annoyed me the most.

Finally saw the whole film today. And despite hating the background blurry animation process, I loved the film. Terrific entertainment.

Why? I had never heard of it and it was so distracting it took me out of the film. As others have mentioned it was like watching a 3D film in 2D. Now that I am aware of it, I’m going to give it another shot in IMAX 2D and hopefully it won’t bother me as much.

In the 45 or so years of fimgoing I can count on one hand the times I’ve had to move because of disruptive moviegoers. And I live in the NYC area.

I used to feel that way too but the advantages faaaar outweigh the disadvantages.

My local AMC is now all reserved seating :thumbsup:

I thought it did. I loved And Lee’s Hulk. It was used very well in that film.

For the record, since it’s the holidays, I went back and apologized for losing my temper. I don’t like getting angry. Anyway I checked out a few minutes of the regular 3D showing and it was still a little weird so I’m wondering if it is indeed a stylistic choice. Did anyone else encounter weird...
