Intentional yes. Successfully done I disagree. It ( the blurry, yes blurry backgrounds) was very distracting to me and took me out of the film when I noticed it. Which was often.
But still an amazing film.
It’s in the 2D version too. I saw both. Go back a few pages in this thread to when it first opened and you’ll see the posts describing and explaining the issue.
Why? I had never heard of it and it was so distracting it took me out of the film. As others have mentioned it was like watching a 3D film in 2D.
Now that I am aware of it, I’m going to give it another shot in IMAX 2D and hopefully it won’t bother me as much.
For the record, since it’s the holidays, I went back and apologized for losing my temper. I don’t like getting angry.
Anyway I checked out a few minutes of the regular 3D showing and it was still a little weird so I’m wondering if it is indeed a stylistic choice. Did anyone else encounter weird...
