Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

Duh. Got them mixed up. Fort Apache IS my favorite. Then Rio Grande and She Wore A Yellow Ribbon. Henry Fonda's performance is amazing in FA.

I mean Zootopia was ok. Didn't see the others but Kubo was spectacular in every category I thought.

I fully admit I'm in the minority on this one. Glad you all enjoyed it more than me.

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

Oh well. The wife and I just finished The Edge Of Seventeen and we were both disappointed. I read rave reviews comparing it to classic teen films like 16 Candles and Breakfast Club and imo it's nowhere near the quality of those films. Hailee Steinfeld is a great actress but was unlikeable in...

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

By the way Josh practically all of the films I've been watching in my Classic Westerns thread have been blind buys. So far I've been really pleased and lucky.

Sounds interesting to me too. Here's a description from IMDb. When a commercial airliner develops engine problems on a trans-Pacific flight and the pilot loses his nerve, it is up to the washed-up co-pilot Dan Roman (John Wayne) to bring the plane in safely.

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

From IMDb. "This film is famous (or infamous) for its "sun setting in the east" final scene, due to the fact that "Vietnam has no west coast" and therefore if the sun is sinking into the ocean, it "must" be setting in the east. However, there are plenty of places in Vietnam (the eastern...

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

Ever time I hear of The Green Berets I recall it being comically criticized for having the sun set in the east at the end. Is that true?

It's next on my list of Classic Westerns to watch after Mclintock. Looking forward to it.

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

I think The Cowboys is the first John Wayne film I saw back in the 70's. It helps that I was the age of the kids in the film. It blew me away. Then came the ABC short lived series with much of the original cast. I think it lasted one season.

Josh's Blind Buys: Watching The Unseen Collection

Great thread Josh! Glad to see you've finally seen The Searchers. It sat on my shelf for years also. Suffice to say I was blown away by it. I knew virtually nothing about it before watching it so that may have helped. It started my fascination and subsequent obsession with classic westerns. I...
