According to Sophia Loren, when she was making Boy On A Dolphin with Ladd, they had to dig a hole for her stand in when she did her scenes with him so she wouldn't tower over him. In her prime, Sophia was 5'9".

Fantastic news! Another Paramount film to cross off my wish list! Thanks, KL.

Kino Lorber, you never cease to amaze me! Another title to cross off my wish list!

Why? Anyway I'm super thrilled with this announcement and for those of us who are B sci-fi movie fans, this is a big announcement!

If the KL release of Shane is NOT in 1.37 ratio, I'm skipping it no matter how great the transfer looks. Pauline Kael summed up the fake wide screen release pretty well: "The cinematography by Loyal Griggs won the Academy Award; this must have struck him as a black joke, because Paramount, in...

I assume it's still in public domain hell but Kino Lorber had access to superior film elements through their deal with Paramount pictures. I stand to be corrected but I believe Blood On The Sun is part of the Republic film library now owned by Paramount. It was originally a United Artists...

YES! I love it when Kino Lorber gives us a film never released on DVD or blu ray. You can bet this will be a welcome addition to my collection.

I couldn't agree more! I don't understand the mentality of people who post on threads on subjects they have zero interest in. There's a post on Criterion's upcoming release of The Princess Bride, a film have zero interest in (yes, I've seen it). Should I go post on it what I think of it? As you...

I prefer facts to dishing gossip in my commentaries. But hey, that's just me ;)

I was quite happy with the quality of the Imprint (one of their better releases) and wasn't intending to buy the KL version until I saw Julie Kirgo would do a commentary. Sold! Her commentaries are treasures. Like Robin 9, I have no interest in gossip maven De Valle's "commentaries".

You mean no one is murdered in the entire series and Columbo doesn't solve the killings? I was under the impression he was a homicide detective! Wow! And yes, I know the criminal act is revealed to the viewer at the beginning, the mystery aspect is how Columbo will catch the criminal. But then...

I must confess that I've never seen Columbo. Not a single episode! While I love murder mysteries (I'm a huge Murder She Wrote and the original Burr Perry Mason fan), I've never warmed up to Peter Falk. Depending on my money situation when it's released, I might bite the bullet and pick it up...

An underrated gem of a movie that I haven't seen since its original theatrical release. Very much looking forward to this one.

Mr. Insider, will this be the roadshow version that the Paramount DVD gave us (Overture, intermission, entr'acte).

I agree Joan Hackett gives a lovely performance. Heston's equal in every way. Heston said they had a hell of a time getting an actress for the part. They pursued Joanne Woodward, Jean Simmons, Lee Remick and Eva Marie Saint among others, who all turned the part down.

The Wild And The Innocent has had DVD releases in France and Germany. Unfortunately, they're pan and scan transfers and it's a CinemaScope film.

Not true, I have the French blu ray. Picture looks excellent so I won't upgrade but for those that don't have it, this should be a treat.

Am I mistaken or was The Tattered Dress (1957) originally intended to be part of this set? It seems to have been replaced by Spy Hunt.
