I got the Bivalent booster and Flu shot combo today.
COVID arm is sore, as usual. Flu shot arm is okay.
It had been 9 months since the last booster, and I had been considering another but wound up waiting when the new formula was announced.
It was funny, when I checked the website to see...
Another one with the lump just below the actual spot where the needle penetrated the skin.
Now, see, I call that "Tuesday", so I didn't attribute it to the vaccine. Could've been a side effect. Could've just been an off day for me. I don't know.
2 days on, my booster once again is a sore arm and little else.
I could attribute the sinus problems to the vaccine, but I've had that since it turned cold and the heat came on in November. So once again, I'll take my good luck with the vaccine and wait patiently for the next one.
Yeah, I got my booster this morning in time for Christmas.
I let it go a bit longer than I should have, but finally got it done since the new variant has fully arrived. Better safe than sorry.
CVS's online scheduling and everything went much smoother than I expected it would.
I asked my doctor about the booster this past Monday. They told me to go to CVS.
So, I'll do that here shortly. I had something else coming up and didn't want to risk feeling like hell before I feel like hell.
They did give me a flu shot, though, and that did hit me a bit. Stuffy nose, a felt...
I'm just waiting for Moderna to be officially approved.
Figure I'll call my doctor and make an appointment for early November if possible, since the official go ahead will likely be given next week.
I've always been October/November. Figured it would take me through the worst of it to spring of the following year.
Oh, and since this is a COVID vaccine thread, I'll happily get a third one, assuming they're available. I think I've already hit 6 months, and 8 or 9 would be around the time I...
And depending on where you get it done, if you've had a history of an allergic reaction to anything at any time, they hold you for 30 minutes after the shot instead if 15.
I had an allergic reaction to one specific antibiotic when I was 4 years old, so over 30 years ago. I usually mention it...
You must have a huge wallet. Mine's fairly regular sized, and the card won't fit in there without bending or folding. So I didn't put it in there. I like that "take a pic of it with your phone" idea from a few posts up, though.
I saw articles about Texas and North Carolina having mass vaccination events at Texas Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway, and was disappointed all I got was an old community gymnasium.
Still glad to have the vaccine, though, even though I couldn't attempt a burnout.
Well, I'm over 48 hours from shot 2 and no real side effects, other than the sore arm with a huge, hard knot at the injection site.
Now it's just a wait until it hits maximum effectiveness.
I believe we had a needle conversation earlier. TBH, I barely even felt whatever they were using today. The woman told me there would be pressure or something, nope, barely even a sting.
Maybe other places use giant needles, but the one I encountered today seemed to be tiny.
Anyway, took about...
Yeah, the punched in the arm feeling developed about a half hour after I posted, which would've been about 3 hours after the shot.
Still, better punched in the arm than punched in the lungs.
Got the first shot this morning from a cute British woman. So that's a plus.
They made the second appointment for next month while I was waiting around for the observation period. Nice to see these mass vaccination deals seem to be organized.
Moderna, not Pfizer. No pain or anything yet, but...
