Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

Nemesis was easily the worst of the original 10 Star Trek movies IMHO, yes worse than Final Frontier. The sheer pointlessness of replacing Data with another dumber Data infuriated me first time I saw it. I remember reading that Marina Sirits wasn't happy director Stuart Baird had never seen a...

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

By pure coincidence I watched Star Trek TMP and Star Trek II last night on blu-ray - double bill and I'm now watching Search for Spock with The Voyage Home to follow after. Like Tino I prefer the original 1979 theatrical for the same reasons he does, I've seen that version well over a hundred...

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

I'm not a fan of the ST-TMP directors cut but I would still like to own it in HD, i might some day get the urge to see a tweaked version of the theatrical edition I've watched well over a hundred times over the decades. It's my favorite of the 13 Trek films released so far.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

I love them all, yes even Shatners, but if I was forced to choose one Star Trek movie it would be ST-TMP. The only one I would watch again on a big screen rerun. Just to stir the pot a bit I wasn't overly fond of the director's cut. I found it interesting but I'm so glad the original 1979...

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

I think thats the first time the word "excellent" was associated with Star Trek V. /img/vbsmilies/htf/biggrin.gif"> Being a true trekkie I like all the Star Trek movies, even Nemesis, the nadir of the series in my opinion. Trek V had the original crew and thats good enough for me, it's not like...

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

Star Trek V on blu was excellent too, a beautiful print. I watched it with Shatners commentary, his daughter was on the track too. What was interesting was that he would mention De and Leonard by name but not the other 4 Trek regulars, unless I missed it. And they were the 4 that famously hated...

Thank you Tino. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was happy with the blu-rays. /img/vbsmilies/htf/smile.gif

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

I've seen them and they look fine to me, maybe it's you who doesn't know what he's looking at? hmmm? Star Trek the Motion Picture in fact looks absolutely fabulous, so good I've watched it twice already, something I rarely do these days.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

After 30 years TMP is still my favourite Trek movie, and it has my favourite Trek music score by the late great Jerry Goldsmith, my favourite film composer. What it doesn't have is my favourite Trek movie villain. Oh and to buck the trend I prefer the original 1979 theatrical to the more recent...
