I got Wanted Dead or Alive for my brother - the entire series for $10. It looks real good on the 60" HD set. You may want to avoid the colorized episodes included as a bonus - they are really hard to watch. I think it was DD deal a year or so ago.
Went into Big Lots for Christmas shopping tonight. Not much left on the TV DVDs - the cardboard waterfall carton was empty and what was left was put on the rack - 2 copies of The Andy Griffith Show S2, and one each The Lucy Show S1 and S2, Streets of San Francisco, Beverly Hillbillies S1...
I too work in radio & TV! I worked in local radio (stations now broadcasting in Spanish, Chinese or religious) and then transitioned to off-air duties (survival is everything!) I'm now working for a local cable channel as the traffic manager. I agree that the frugal living we've all had makes us...
I got the 3 disc set for $1. Amazon still wants $16.84 for it. The Big Lots I went to just opened about 3 weeks ago but I didn't see the ESPN titles until yesterday.
I can add Hawaii 5-O seasons 1 through 6, Cannon S1 V2, and some ESPN titles for $1. Picked up 5-O S1 and S2, a Wide World of Sports title and the ESPN mini-series "The Bronx is Burning". Would have liked to have seen Mission: Impossible or Have Gun Will Travel, but there's always Christmas!
Just a reminder - if you live in Massachusetts, Maine or Rhode Island the sale will be tomorrow as those stores will not be open on Thanksgiving. I went into my local store on Sunday and did not see any new TV DVDs. I'll check tomorrow afternoon on the way home from work.
In the two weeks the new store in Ashland, MA has been opened I've only seen one TV set - Season 2 of "Samantha Who?" for $3.
Maybe they're just reusing the ad from last year - easier to use stock pictures.
