Hi All, I just received both Vols. 1&2 of Ben Casey and skimmed through them on my Panasonic ST30 hooked up to my surround sound system. I found the visual quality to be quite acceptable and similar to when I last watched this show on CBN on the early 90's. Some episodes are sharper than others...

I believe the Ben Casey episodes I saw on CBN in the early 90's were time sped, but NOT edited. The visual quality while not pristine, was pretty good too.

I'm hoping for the visual quality to be at least as good as what I saw on CBN back in the 90's and that they are unedited and not time sped. I'm also hoping that the crappy Worldvision logo at the end is replaced with the original Bing Crosby Productions logo, but I'm not holding my breath on...

Ben , That BCP logo was used on the Ben Casey series from 1961 until 1963. On a side note...isn't it amazing how those supposed "music clearance" issues suddenly cleared up allowing this DVD release. John

Neil, I agree with your statement however, these Ben Casey bootleggers having been selling their wares right out in the open, for many years now without any legal ramifications. Check eBay and Amazon to name a few and see the responses from customers...quite a few have been sold...much more...

Hi Robin, They are of decent quality, taken from the Worldvision tapes and are not edited. As for a breach of copyright, CBS doesn't seem to care at this point as there are many bootlegs of lesser quality being sold. Go watch Ben Casey and see for yourself, Enjoy a good show with outstanding...
