Guys, I was in a horrible car accident tonight and almost died....I had to be cut out of the vehicle....I am telling you this because I want everyone to enjoy their favorite films NOW...TODAY. You don't know what tomorrow will bring. All of these changes to Star Wars just aren't important, enjoy...
David, That is so true. It reminds me of my favorite film The Wizard of Oz....when it used to air annually, before vhs, it was an event. It almost seemed like the story was happening live, just for me. And it seemed like it took Dorothy and Co. forever to make it to the Emerald City. Years...
I have OCD and am a perfectionist so I never know what to throw out.....my LOTR Two Towers Gift Box was nicked and I freaked out....until I came to the conclusion that the box has nothing to do with the film....so, I don't care as much anymore. I don't think Peter Jackson would either.
Well, E.T. was never recalled, and the original cut of the film is missing a key sound effect during an important scene....quite glaring. I'll bet most people never even noticed, but I did.
Are you guys tossing the piece of cardboard that came on the outer box? Mine is in okay condition, but not great and I am debating on what I should do with it. I wouldn't think it affects the boxed set. Was it meant to be discarded?
I'm almost certain that is Billy Dee William in the ESB Teaser Trailer.....I know that is Harrison Ford in the Launch Trailer....and before anyone responds, please read my post carefully so know one says "no, it is Harrison Ford in the Launch Trailer."
I know the subtitle was added later....I'm asking if anyone has any opinions as to what elements it may have come from. It looked to be in great shape, as if remastered....hmmmm.
Maybe someone will answer me this time.....does anyone have any theories as to how the opening crawl, sans Episode IV, made it into this dvd set twice? Where did they get it?
I too immediately noticed the lack of echo in the Luke and Leia bridge scene. I also noticed a little jump in the frame when Luke first meets Obi Wan, before they go to find C-3PO. Also, the opening sequence had a great surround effect in the Faces vhs version....when...
Ernest, I hesitate to talk anymore about Snow White in a Star Wars thread but to answer your question: Every scene in Snow White ends in a fade-out. The dvd version cuts to the fades too quickly and the fades themselves are too fast. As a result, the last few seconds of each scene is...
I think the lightsaber issue is just something you are going to have to live with. There are several of my favorite films that are on dvd that aren't perfect, and if I came to the forum to complain (which I do), it wouldn't help. I told everyone about Snow White's fade-outs being too quick on...
Lucas isn't going to say the originals are coming out eventually at this point in time...that would be stupid on his part. My feeling is, I'm now happy with the changes but if he does re-release them and includes the originals I will buy them to. But I am not going to hold my breath waiting for...
I started a thread a couple of years back about how the E.T. dvd is missing E.T.'s moan as he is dying. It's been on every release to home video, thus far. Hardly no one responded....consequently, I still didn't get an answer as to whether it was there in '82 or added for the '85...
I just don't think these audio "deletions" were an oversight. As much care and time that Lucas and others put into these new transfers, I'm sure they know what they are doing. It's not an oversight.
I'm watching: Tuesday: Star Wars Wednesday: Empire Thursday: Jedi Friday: Empire of Dreams Saturday: Remaining extras Sunday: The Phantom Menace Monday: Attack of the Clones
Sounds like a lot of care and attention to detail went into this release if there are so many audio changes. I am very excited to see these films in their sparkling new editions!!!!!!!
