I returned the 2nd Gen model purchased at Amazon for $110. I could re-order for the $100 price, but think I will just wait and get the 3rd Gen model for $30 more sometime down the road.
FYI, the 2nd Gen ATV4K is on sale again at Amazon - - this time for $110. I decided to order one. Cost me about $75 out of pocket after applying rewards points. I will probably take my 1st Gen box down to our South Carolina condo - - I have a Roku Ultra with Dolby Vision support there, but...
I was going to order a Gen 2 model today (got some Amazon credits from my monthly credit card statement), but the price was back up to $168. I guess I will wait for the next sale. I am not paying that much for a new unit when I already own other options.
So far, around here issues have only been reported by folks using 1st gen Apple TV 4k devices. I have not seen anyone mention using an Amazon Fire or Chromecast device, though. After watching the first three quarters on my Roku Ultra with no problems, I watched the final quarter in our bedroom...
You made me curious, so I switched over to my 1st Gen ATV4K and immediately experienced the same stuttering video. That device and my Roku Ultra sit in the same rack one shelf apart and both connect via WiFi. I have never experienced that issue on the ATV4K with any app, including Prime Video...
I may order one later this month when my monthly rewards points hits my account from my Prime VISA card. I could take the 1st Gen unit to our South Carolina condo as an alternative to the Roku Ultra I have there now.
I watched the latest episode of Amazon's Rings of Power on my 1st gen ATV4K yesterday without any issues. I think I am running the latest IOS, but will have to check to verify.
My first Gen Apple TV 4K sometimes has slight lip sync issues with Dolby Vision material only. Wonder if the 2nd Gen model would correct the problem?
FYI, I do not experience the issue with the other two devices in my setup that support DV - - a Roku Ultra streaming box, and a Panasonic 820 UHD...
I don't have Netflix. Can I assume The Sandman is a 4K show? If so, since it plays fine on an Apple 4K TV -> 4K display setup, but not on an Apple 4K TV -> HD display, it sounds like your ATV4K is having issues downconverting the show from its 4K Netflix source to HD. Maybe something in the...
Try turning HDMI control off, but leave ARC turned on. I just checked, and that is possible with my Denon X3300W. Not sure if that works with your model. Mine is an older model with ARC, but not eARC.
Personally, I have both HDMI control and ARC turned off. I could not get ARC to work...
Robert's settings are indeed correct, although they do seem counter intuitive -- I screwed them up initially when I bought an Apple TV 4K, too. If I recall, Roku has a similarly odd setup for this on their Ultra streaming box. If you are still having issues getting 4K, HDR10 or Dolby Vision to...
There is not enough in this upgrade to get me to buy a new unit. The iPhone feature for calibration is useless for me, as I have an android phone. If they would also support using an iPad, I could at least use that feature. I don't care about the remote, as I use a universal remote.
We just...
