    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

So, you are the reason postage cost just up again this week.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I have never figured out the rhyme or reason for the Amex offers that show up on my account. I get a few that I have used several times, some that I have received just once but would like to use again, and a lot that I would never use.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I am pretty sure I have used my Amex card on Amazon at least once, as it's one of the stored payment options on our Amazon account. I would not have added it there unless I was going to use it for some reason.

That's true for the "on demand" services with ads, such as Peacock, Hulu, etc. However, anything you record using the DVR function on YouTube TV allows you to fast forward through the commercials.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

Interesting. I have never experienced an offered reward that didn't work with my card, but I have never had any offers for a reward for Amazon through American Express.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

Yes, I have an Amex card, I remember you posting that offer. Unfortunately, it didn't show up in my offers. I think they put out different offers depending on which card you have.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

That's a good offer, but I don't have a Discover Card. I use my Amazon Prime VISA for just about everything, and average probably $25 per month in rewards points.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I have been getting offers of 6% back in Amazon Rewards points (instead of the normal 5%) for the no rush shipping option sometimes. Other times, I am getting the digital credits offer.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I did find a few of Amazon's original shows worth watching, such as Mrs. Maisel and The Man in the High Castle. But there are more shows that I either didn't care for, or never bothered to try. Personally, I almost always use those digital credits for Kindle books. I think I only used them...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

You can just wait until the entire season is available and then just pay for the ad-free service for a month, watch the episodes, and then cancel the service. That effectively makes the show a cheap rental. That's what I will do if something I want to see comes to Prime.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I rarely watch Prime Video, so there is no way I am paying extra to get commercial-free streaming. I just will not watch any of their shows -- similar to Peacock, where I get the version with ads for free with my Comcast Internet service. I think the only thing I have watched on Prime in at...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

It may have to do with how the purchases get delivered. If those other communities are served by actual Amazon delivery trucks and you area by another carrier, they will get their orders quicker. When I place an order with our default delivery address in Michigan, I usually get a quick...

No BD's, but I had two separate orders for household items this week, and both orders were just like yours. Arrived next day via an Amazon truck.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

Same here in SE Michigan. The Amazon trucks appeared here when the new distribution center opened a few miles from our house maybe 4-5 years ago. I cannot ever remember seeing an Amazon truck at our place in SC, though.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I think it partly has to do with where you are located. Here in southeastern Michigan, we have two Amazon distribution / fulfillment centers within a few miles of our house. We get most orders the next day -- delivered by Amazon trucks. However, when we are in South Carolina, orders usually take...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I don't think we have too many returns - - maybe 3 or 4 per year, and I order from Amazon a lot. EDIT: Out of curiosity, I checked my account, and this was the 6th return this calendar year out of way too many orders to count.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

My reason was that there was a better price available after the item shipped. Still, not having an option for drop off is something I have never experienced back in Michigan. This is the first time I have returned something while at our South Carolina place, so I do not know if it's a normal...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I had a weird experience last week with an Amazon return. When at home in Michigan, when processing a return I have always had several options for how to ship back a return - - UPS pickup, or drop off at a UPS store, Kohl's retail store, Whole Foods, etc. If I dropped off at a location, I...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

Yes, that makes sense. Where are you located, Bryan? We are in Plymouth (southeastern Michigan) , and there is a large Amazon distribution center approximately 5 miles away.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

That is the opposite of my experience since Amazon began doing its own deliveries in our area a few years ago. I have even received a few orders the same day without paying for it. Orders which are delayed are almost always from 3rd parties and/or delivered by a different carrier.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

That's fine, but I have also received the same "don't ship back the item" response at times when filing for a replacement via Amazon's website. Other times they have required the item to be sent back, but Amazon makes that process very easy, as well.

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

You should have been able to initiate a return / replacement directly from Amazon's website without making a phone call. Amazon makes it quite simple, and only takes a minute or two -- certainly less time than speaking with two levels of support via the phone. It's one of the best things about...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I must be one of the few Amazon customers who is still receiving good service during this pandemic. Most of my orders arrive in 1-2 days, unless it's a purchase from a third party seller -- but those instances have always been less consistent. The few movie titles I have ordered have sometimes...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

Yeah, time flies. I typed "several years" as I was too lazy to look up how long it had been. Since I was in charge of all data and voice communications for a large, multi-hospital health system, that outage created a lot of work for us. I do remember the power went out on a Thursday afternoon...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

When I was working and on-call 7x24x365, having a home phone service that was not susceptible to power outages was very important to me. Having a POTS service was invaluable to me during the major blackout that hit the entire eastern half of the country several years ago (even the cell towers...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I was planning on setting up Nomorobo for my mother, who has been complaining about a lot of solicitor calls. She has a AT&T cellular-based combination Internet / voice service where AT&T provides a cellular-based router with WiFi, an ethernet port and an analog phone port. It was the only cost...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

They could be running the phone service off the Internet connection. I am not that familiar with the Verizon FIOS service, as it's not available in this area. Does your phone line somehow connect to a router provided by Verizon, or are your phone lines still connected via the old, traditional...

Verizon FIOS isn't a VoIP service?

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

I use Nomorobo for our land line. It's free and blocks most of the calls. I can report those calls that get through. I do not get many solicitor calls on my mobile phone. I had been using a call blocking app, but an upgrade to the app made it worse. I tried another app, but it was blocking...

    Amazon Finally Pissed Me Off!

But I'm not sure what they could have done, or why you even bothered to call them. If there was no order on your Amazon account for that amount, there was obviously nothing to deal with. It was just some scumbag running a phishing scam and using Amazon's name as bait. We all get calls from...
