The only gotcha is automatic brightness level when used as a pc. Don’t expect great user experience with desktop apps. My pc is a life support system for steam and battle net so it’s no issue for me, YMMV
As I think you know Carlo I’m in just the opposite camp. I’m looking to replace my projection with 120” OLED. Prices keep coming down and sizes going up. I think we will see 97” at $5k in 2024 and 120 maybe there by 2026. Hope I live to enjoy OLED at those sizes!
My only real complaint now is: in a room with a c1 for gaming and a c2 pc monitor using the remote activated both. There is no way to stop it. It’s maddening
Using Classy’s config really shows how badly borked HGIG is on the 77” G2. I hope you have been beating LG with wet noodles to get them fixing this stat @Robert_Zohn
Fortunately just using the dynamic setting looks great and it really pulls out all the highlights I knew the set was capable of...
Also note the YouTube crew has found the HgIG hdr issue that had stumped me but I had not mentioned. I figured it was user error on my part so I just went back to HDR10 for gaming. Nope it’s actually bugged. More to follow
Yes. I’ve got it “good enough” calibrated based on settings from rtings and AVS and while I think I could get slightly higher specular highlights with a little work I love the way it looks as is. Highly recommended.
Hoping my 42c2 has shipped but no notice yet. I think I owe Robert a kidney...
42” showing up in Costco..

I spoke to Wendy today at Value and she was just as sharp as @Robert_Zohn at coming up with things to try. :)
And one of her suggestions may just be it. On the Apple TV I think there are two menu options for CEC and I turned that one off. Will test more tomorrow!
Seems pretty stable in Dolby Vision on Apple TV and HDR10 on Xbox. So fingers crossed. Would still like a bit more pop on the highlights but I think that could be fixed with calibration. It’s great in daytime but it really comes alive at night.
It looos like it may be the LG having confusion with the Xbox implementation of Dolby Vision for gaming. More testing to follow. It’s definitely not electrical or cable related as far as we can see. And it has the latest firmware.
I’m using hdr10 for gaming in the meantime. Will have to try a...
