@Ronald Epstein not really. LTE is fast enough for most things most consumers care about: web, document downloads, video, video chat, email. Where it could be better is in low latency for time sensitive input on online gaming (FPS mostly), telemedicine, and things like that.
Most consumers...
The point of 5G isn't (just) speed. It's in lower latency and wider coverage with more availability and more access points.

Honestly it's going to better for the infrastructure providers than it is for consumers for the most part. There are...
w/c is week commencing right? 7th is Labor day so that is out. Rumor is the 10th which is weirdly a Thursday. So either the 8th or 10th if Prosser is right.
Will see but count me in!
I disagree with calling the October release date a 'delay'. Looking back the releases have been all over the map:

Yes, most years are september but they have been as early as March and as late as November. October is fine.
I have no inside intel but personally I'd hope the Pro models wait until there is a working 5G chipset they can move to. Spring or Fall if it doesn't have 5g this year the iPad Pro will disappoint me.
And then there is this:
There is zero chance of Apple releasing an iPad Pro with 13x in spring and 14x in fall.
There is a verrrrry slim chance of Apple releasing a 5G special edition with same chipset 6 months later, but it could happen.
