It's like the superbowl they make the tshirts for both teams winning to be ready immediately after the game. Sometimes the wrong ones leak out. It's not a conspiracy.
This is exactly what I mean when I say that I can recognize that I am not the target audience for Into the Spiderverse and yet still love it for how it expands all of comicdom through honest representation. Blah that's a mouthful of words but I hope you know what I mean...
My buddy just got A-List and wanted to see this so I went last night and saw it a second time, in RealD 3D. Tons of fun a second time , gives you room to really scan the film and look for little details.
There was nothing blurry about the backgrounds that I could see. There was limited camera...
Look, the backgrounds aren't blurred. There is a texture effect on them but they are sharp as hell. If you are seeing blurs something IS wrong with your projection or you are confusing a camera bokeh effect for error. I recommend seeing this in Dolby Cinema 2d.
So I saw it Friday night. I can't imagine how you could NOT understand that the halftoning was intentional, and FANTASTIC.
Actually, the entire movie was amazingly well done. One of the best superhero movies ever. A great movie, period.
The look, the sound and the story were all triumphs...
The Ars Technica review mentions the half-toning @Tino it sounds intentional. Seeing it tonight.
