PHE Press Release: Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Fully Restored Director's Edition (4k UHD) (Paramount+ Streaming)

ST V is my least favorite of the original series films. That said, it has its moments and I look forward to seeing it again on 4k. Also, it is nowhere near as bad a film as Nemesis, which basically throws out 15 years of TNG characterization and world-building for a pretty insipid film. Add in...

PHE Press Release: Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Fully Restored Director's Edition (4k UHD) (Paramount+ Streaming)

If we're not going to get box sets to supplement last year's box, I'd actually welcome individual steelbook releases for each film.

PHE Press Release: Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Fully Restored Director's Edition (4k UHD) (Paramount+ Streaming)

I don't get it. Paramount puts out the first four films in a box set, which left fans calculating and configuring how the remaining 6 films would be collected. Paramount had to be aware of this. PHE Press Release: Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Fully Restored Director's Edition (4k UHD) (Paramount+ Streaming)

If Paramount doesn’t release a box set of 5 & 6 and the DC of TMP, it will really be disrespectful to the fans that bought last year’s box of 1-4. I’d be fine with individual releases (like steel books) but releasing a box of 1-4 out of a series of 10 films implies other boxes will come to...

PHE Press Release: Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Fully Restored Director's Edition (4k UHD) (Paramount+ Streaming)

I have seen people complaining about spoilers! Granted, they live in parts of the world that don't have access to P+, but they actually claim that we shouldn't be discussing this film because they can't see it. (It's from a Facebook group dedicated to TMP.) Besides the fact that it's up to the...

PHE Press Release: Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Fully Restored Director's Edition (4k UHD) (Paramount+ Streaming)

I saw the movie on Dec. 8, 1979; I had the “special longer version” on VHS; have the original and the DC on DVD, and the original on Blu-ray and UHD. The point is: I like the movie. The director’s cut remains my favorite.
