I don’t doubt that Ahsoka will come to 4k/Blu-ray, but this guy’s track record isn’t great. Also, Obi-Wan and Darth Maul are not in the show. A while back he posted artwork of the Obi-Wan series that is not the artwork on the steelbook coming out next week.

It’s got to be something with Obi-Wan, that’s the phrase most associated with him. I hope it is Obi-Wan season 2. I enjoyed the first one a lot. I am also looking forward to the Lando movie with Donald Glover. EDIT: Another thought: Could it be an announcement of a 4k UHD of the Obi-Wan show...

The only thing I was never clear on is whether Dooku knew Sidious was Palpatine. If he didn’t, he surely was hit with the revelation when Palpatine ordered Anakin to kill him.

Oh yeah, but that really should be too. That’s a tremendous series.

Still canon? As long as Dave Filoni is Lucasfilm’s chief creative officer, it always will be.

I recently rewatched American Graffiti and in one of the extras, Lucas says he was having trouble with the dialogue between Steve (Ron Howard) and Laurie (Cindy Williams), so he went to Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz, who crafted their scenes. He needed some similar help with the stuff between...

I'm sure many (most?) of us are glad to see a Mandalorian feature happening. https://www.starwars.com/news/the-mandalorian-and-grogu But I think the larger question is whether Lucasfilm has a coherent strategy this time for the movies? Are audiences going to want Star Wars films that function...

Same. Saw it with a friend in a theater when I was 6. Scared the hell out of me, until I couldn’t wait to see it again. (Thanks to the 4:30 movie.)

The 70s were kinda nuts, weren’t they? That’s how I remember them.

Ok, for Jaws that was an understatement.

As I recall, Jedi had a notation on the movie poster that "May be too intense for very young children." This was the start of what would become the PG-13 rating the following year, after Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom and Gremlins.

I watched A Disturbance in the Force tonight (Blu-ray) and it’s great. It’s funny, insightful, and has a ton of clips I’ve never seen (and I saw the Holiday Special live). They did a great job on this, showing its impact right up through today, with clips from The Mandalorian and that Chewbacca...

That's terrific news. No one - maybe not even George Lucas - knows Star Wars better than Dave Filoni.

Today is the 45th anniversary of the Star Wars Holiday Special, so I guess that makes this Life Day… (Photo from a store in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.)

I happened upon something I never thought I’d see: Official Merchandise from The Star Wars Holiday Special. In a Disney park, no less. We’re certainly not in 1978 anymore.

Next on the kids’ rewatch agenda was The Phantom Menace. (I know it makes no sense.) The photography in this movie is some of the best in the series. I just wish the story was better. I love George Lucas. I will defend him forever, and the pressure on him must have been enormous to get this...

Next on our Star Wars watch was Return of the Jedi. I have to be honest and say that I like the film less every time I see it. I told my kids this, and they asked why. I said, for starters, having another Death Star means the goal of this movie is the same as the first (or the fourth, to them)...

Continuing our Star Wars rewatch program this summer, and letting my son choose what’s next, today we saw the movie cut of Obi-Wan Kenobi. It loses slightly more than half of its running time, so it’s leaner and faster paced. It does lose some character moments and some good stuff, like the...

Ok, only one Star Wars film was delayed, and it is likely the one with Daisy Ridley. It has been delayed to May 22, 2026 from Dec. 19, 2025. The others that were scheduled for December 2026 and December 2027 are staying put...

Maybe they want the focus to be on the films, which have got to be more profitable than the streaming shows, since the streaming service itself has yet to turn a profit.

They’ve announced delays for Star Wars and Avatar movies. The Star Wars films are now on a 6-month release schedule, which is very promising, with the first one coming Dec. 2025, then May 2026, and Dec. 2026. (I think there’s an error in the article because other sources list the dates as May...

My son’s crazy follow-up to Empire is Revenge of the Sith, so “we can see how Anakin became Darth Vader, now that we know he’s Luke ‘s father.” Ok, whatever, but we watched it today and it’s (mostly) terrific. I was struck by a few things. Natalie Portman sure isn’t given much to do, except...

We've had a Star Wars weekend here, like the Memorial Days of old, since my kids wanted to get a jump start on their summer Star Wars marathon. I let them choose the order of the films this time, and they opted to start with Rogue One. So we watched Rogue One, A New Hope and The Empire Strikes...

Huge grain of salt, obviously, but it sounds like something they would do after the success of Luke’s appearances and the new de-aging tech in Indiana Jones. Of course, this could be animated...
