Bumping this old thread on the news that Battlestar Galactica will no longer be seen on Amazon Prime, meaning that it will have no home among streaming services.

Those of us that have the blu-rays and DVDs can rest easy in the knowledge...
Not sure if this was posted here, but here's a recent article about Ron Moore saying his days on Deep Space Nine influenced BSG: http://trekmovie.com/2010/06/01/ron-moore-battlestar-galactica-born-from-star-trek-deep-space-nine/ Moore's been one of my favorite writers since his days on...
I agree with that. He had the weight of the survival of humanity on his shoulders for so long, with even his trusted associates turning on him (Gaeta) or turning out to be something other than what he thought they were (Tigh). Given those circumstances, I'd go live in the mountains or the trees too.
I have to disagree. I think both shows relied on faith too much in their conclusions to storylines and mysteries set up along the way, and in both cases, that is what fans have been dissatisfied with, in large part.
I also found many similarities to Lost, particularly in the way both shows ended. Warning: Spoilers for Lost and BSG here. Both shows ended with too much reliance on faith. What drew us in to these stories in the first place was the dedication to realism and the intensity of the plots...
So, Ron, where are you in season 4, and what did you make of the revelations at the end of season 3? Also, have you seen the extended versions of episodes? I thought the extended Unfinished Business was quite good.
Hey, you're entitled to your opinion, but this is wrong. There are many, many elements of the original show in the new, from Adm. Cain, the Pegasus, Kobol, the Rising Star, and on and on. Even the spirituality of the original is there. The new show followed the trajectory of the original in a...
I like the original show. I watched it when it aired. I even went to the movies to see the re-edited version of the pilot (in "Sensurround!"). I picked up the series on DVD when it came out. It's a fun show. But it's not mature science fiction. A lot of words come to mind regarding the...
Ron, you should watch Razor at some point soon. It takes place during season 2; however, there is what might be considered a minor spoiler for the season 3 finale. Since you have already seen the season 3 finale, it's fine to watch Razor. I liked Razor. I thought it was a well made film...
In retrospect, I think New Caprica is one of the show's best moments. There is an intensity there that is very gripping. Without giving anything away, I can tell you there are good things coming, and it will not be slow. You should have watched the "Resistance" webisodes before the first...
Yes, Chief Tyrol and Helo know each other. The show is similar to Lost in its serialized nature (I think both shows owe a debt to Babylon 5 and Deep Space Nine in that regard). I found BSG to be very satisfying overall. Many episodes are so intense that without thinking about it, I found...
You're going to have a great time, Ron. It's the most mature science fiction show that's ever been on TV. I think of it as the Sopranos of sci-fi. Like the Babylon 5 thread where you kept checking in and telling us your thoughts, I hope you do the same here.
