I've been watching season six lately on BD, and I think it's not a good fit with the prior five seasons. I don't know the answer to the above question, but I will place this in spoiler space for the benefit of those who haven't seen it. The show seems to keep coming out of left field...

Nothing. I'm just saying that the kinds of things that were given an explanation in the 12 minute extra on the season 6 set (not just polar bears) could have been revealed and incorporated into the show years ago without giving away anything central to the story.

I saw it too, and it made me wonder: If these "revelations" could be done in such a casual manner and if they didn't really impact the show's central storyline, why couldn't they have been introduced in a regular episode earlier? Why not throw in the bit about the polar bears in the 5th or 6th...

Hurley did say to Ana Lucia in this episode something to the effect of "we don't know each other yet," implying that Hurley is aware of events in the island time line.

Do we have any kind of confirmation that Widmore is dead? Ben's closet could have had all sorts of supplies, including bullet-proof vests. Similarly, I don't think we have seen the last of Richard. And yes, Jack took Jacob's spot, but who's to say someone else won't end up in it before the...

Well, then, as I suspected these alternate endings are going to be funny, not truly "alternative" endings. That said, I am very much looking forward to them! One week from now, we'll be battering our keyboards discussing the end to this show.

We'll have to agree to differ on that one. I think that a show that posed questions week after week makes an implicit promise to the viewer that things will pay off in the long run. And maybe they will, it remains to be seen. You know, the island isn't done with us yet.
