Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

I can't speak for Titanium. I never considered it as one, it's more expensive and two, just plain overkill when I buy a new watch ever year (which is an insane thing to do in the first place). I can speak for Stainless Steel. No, they don't scratch easily. When I was working, I was in a...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

First of all, I think you are going to be exceptionally happy with your Apple Watch. I think it's probably the greatest product Apple has made. Was Titanium actually one of your choices? You mention it, but then go on to mention stainless steel or aluminum. I buy stainless steel every...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

I canceled my upgrade to Series 6 Watch. After sleeping on it for a few days, it's not worth the expenditure right now. It's only a minor spec bump. One of the big factors was seeing the comparison (above) to the pulse oximeter and seeing how far it was off. I'll put some more thought into...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

I feel cheated by this event. One hour in length. Okay, I understand them not announcing ARM laptops. However, at the very least, after yesterday's leak, they could have announced AIR TAGS, a product they have sitting on for a year already.

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

I bought the watch. There's no significant upgrade here other than blood oxygen meter and brighter "always on" display outdoors. No mention of battery life being longer other than iMore website saying "The Apple Watch Series 6 comes with a new S6 processor built to make the Apple Watch run...

No go on Apple One. Not the right combination of the services I want (Apple News+ only on higher tier) Fitness service really great but won't hurt Peloton.

Now I remember why it takes two hours to announce two major products: all the self-promoting personal stories

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

Figured out why I could not watch it on my giant screen with Apple TV at WWDC in June. For some reason, I have to reboot my Apple TV device when Apple switches over from the looped "starting at" to the actual event. Something triggers the connection in my Apple TV 4k device and it has to be...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

Oh, agreed. Parallels must be shitting bricks right now if they haven't found a way to run Windows on ARM devices. That is their entire business model. That's why in a post above I said, "What else does Parallels run?"

This guy swears he has the ultimate leak on AirTags. There is some pretty shitty news that comes with it. You watch and see how Apple decided to make more money off this device...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

Thomas, Thanks for all the information. So, even with the link Parallels has provided on their own page to those wondering whether ARM devices will run Windows, one walks away not knowing anything at all. I get the idea that the software team at Parallels isn't even certain they can modify...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

A day before the event... I am actually more excited about this event than I have been in years past. Reason being, all the products, and specs were usually leaked before the event. You knew what was coming before it was even announced. There weren't any real surprises. Last year, the...

What else does Parallels run? I thought it was a VM for Windows.

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

I hear yuh. I have to say, been reading a lot of Mac Rumor sites and it seems to be a close to 50/50 split on whether the iPhone will be announced at all on Tuesday. I am going to say no. Would rather see Macbooks and Macbook Pros announced.

For the moment, that would be a problem as I regularly use Parallels. That being said, I expect those companies will be upgrading their software to work for the new ARM Macbook/Pro in hopefully a short period of time.

So, question about ARM computers... Hypothetically if Apple announced and I bought a Pro in the next few weeks... I know some apps are not "optimized" for ARM at the moment. However, will they at least work? Or is it like going from Mojave to Catalina where 32-bit apps no longer worked?
