You can get about 40% trade-in on a newer Mac. Just don't use Apple to trade it in. If you need some suggested places I have used let me know

Okay. So you are posting multiple jabs at me because my auto-correct put an “e” at the end of silicon.

They aren't? What am I misunderstanding here? I thought all their chips were created in-house.

Just finished reading that terrific article. Made me feel really good. Not only that, it makes me feel very proud of Apple. For years they had to deal with the bottlenecks of Intel's chip release schedule and delays. Apple couldn't be their own company, on their own schedule, until they did...

Thomas is correct. That is the G9. There is the Odyssey Samsung monitor that is even more curved than that one, but it's designed more for gaming whereas the one I have is designed for work.

I had a feeling what the end-game would be on this video given the fact Dave had recommended it. Pretty wild how fast the new Pro Macbook is over a beastly Windows PC!

No offsite backup. I use Time Machine with an attached external drive I also use SuperDuper for backups that I do every few months. I am not sure SD is M1 compatible, but I am assuming it is.

The 2019 MBP I bought was 2TB I would have to wait till the end of December for a new machine if I returned this one. I am leaning towards just leaving things alone.

I am immensely enjoying my new MacBook Pro. However, I am considering returning it and getting the 2TB model. Have to put more thought to it today.

Sam, Just got my 16" MBP and spending the day setting it up. Let me know what issues you are having and what I need to download to test my drive speed. I will try to format an external drive later today to see if that works. Just need to know what to look for as far as any potential...

This was a kick in the pants for me to read, although I suspect in time this will be fixed... Just spoke to Parallels and they have confirmed that they do not support M1 Pro & Max - just M. "Currently Parallels is supported only on Mac with Intel and M1 chips."

Yeah, you know what we are going through here. It's beyond pathetic, but not uncommon. Went to FedEx. It's there. They can't release it because it hasn't been sorted yet (for tomorrow's delivery). So, I have to sit and just wait out the delivery.

Mine is sitting at my local office, within 2 miles of me. Because Apple puts restrictions on delivery I am being told that I can't pick it up. However, I am going to personally go over there later today to attempt to do just that.

I wouldn't say it's stuck in Memphis. I think you and I are on the same plane. It was last scanned in Memphis early this morning, went into transit, and there is still yet another scan to be done later today. Still hoping that overnight it will change its delivery date from Friday to...

Woah, Dude, I was sitting here saw this and thought, "What the F -- that Sam is ahead of me" I then checked my deliveries app and Lo' and Behold, my MBP is also in Memphis. Just updated. So, the big question is now that it is in our neck of the woods will we get it a day early?

I was very scared about selling my 2019 MBP 3-4 months before the release of the new Pro laptops. However, I have been amazed at how well the iPad works as a laptop replacement when used with the Magic Keyboard. Honestly, I wouldn't be uncomfortable continuing to use the iPad as my only...

Well F-it! I am going to cancel my order now. Uhm, been asking around about the 4TB drive being faster. Here is a response: Generally higher-capacity SSDs of the same line are faster. But really, I don't know how earth-shattering faster they would be to warrant the $600 upgrade from the 2TB...

Just finished reading this. My favorite review thus far -- one that I would recommend anyone on the fence read. Love the fact that the internal fans aren't readily turning on. Love the braided cord on the Magsafe that goes right to the plug to prevent fraying (so we shall see). Thanks for...

I saw it in one of the video reviews where the reviewer was testing the SSD speed and said the 4TB should be faster. I can look through those videos you provided and get you to that part. I also found this: Larger SSDs tends to mean more NAND chips which means more simultaneous access which...
