Looking like announcements on 10/13 (same day as Amazon Prime Day, allegedly) and preorders take place on 10/16
Latest rumors point to no Macbook/Pro announcements
I wanted to follow-up on your post about this, Sam.
Potentially, if 5G were implemented correctly, the speeds would be an insane jump from where they are now. Correct?
However, we don't have the proper infrastructure in place for consumers to get those benefits.
With that in mind, are...
Yeah, I think a lot of people are going to be gravely disappointed in 5G.
I provided the YouTube video of Renee Richie (perhaps in this thread) who basically talks about the technology not being at the point where everyone can get optimal speeds. You really need to be very, very close to one...
If this were true I would rather they delay the iPhone 12 Pro launch until they get it right. Otherwise, it's a missing feature that we will have to wait another year for.
My understanding is that you would get your prescription fitted for the VR eyewear. I could be wrong about that. However it seems
people would look silly walking around with essentially 3-D looking glasses over their own
I am with you on that.
It did seem very odd for Thursday to be an event day. It seems like it's always on a Tuesday.
The other thing we have been hearing is that some of the announcements -- mainly the Apple Watch (and I think) new iPad will be done via Press Release. So, that date could be...
I know you are looking at the iPads, Dave. I hope you get one this year.
Kind of forced to go with a new iPhone. This will be the first 5G model and of course they are going with a new larger size so I'm in!
Thanks for the link, Dave.
Not your fault, but there's a whole lotta nothing in that article.
We know the new iPhones are coming in October. That's a given.
We also suspected new iPads but the article states maybe mini-LED and maybe this year then goes on to say maybe 2021 and then finalizes...
Gotcha, Dave! I didn't check the price on the cheaper models. I mistakenly thought the discount would resonate through the entire product line. I simply looked at the model I would most be interested in buying.
There were rumors the new iPhones would actually be cheaper this year.
However, it looks like if this information is correct, the prices are the same. At least, that's comparing it to the current iPhone 11 Pro Max
Dave,
I don't know where you are in buying this.
It's easier for me to say "Wait!"
You are in a totally different position than me. I have the 2018 model and I always saw this new one as a spec bump rather than anything revolutionary.
We do know that a micro-LED model is forthcoming. Maybe...
I update almost yearly on most of my Apple hardware.
However, micro-LED and WiFi 6 are the two absolute must inclusions for anything I buy in the future.
My next big hardware purchases with these incorporated would be the iPhone and Macbook Pro.
The problem is that the rumor mill is always 1 year ahead of the current model line.
Yes, a new 12.9" iPad Pro could be launched next month. However, the spotlight is already on the future LED models that will be released by year's end or next year.
Same for the iPhones coming out this fall...
Thanks for starting this thread, Dave.
I already have the latest 12" Pro and there doesn't seem to be any huge design upgrades other than the camera and A chip.
Still, if you are behind a few years on an iPad, this would certainly be the one to get.
Most exciting for me is the possible...
