Yeah, aware of the debacle with JESUS OF NAZARETH.
I have the Spanish version which is the most complete version. The iTunes release runs shorter than that, so it's edited.
I haven't seen it in years. It's a classic with one of the most well-known lines of dialogue ever spoken in film.
It was up for Best Picture that year, at a time when the Academy didn't have 30 Best Picture Nominees to choose from (okay I am exaggerating) and Peter Finch won Best Actor while...
Thanks, Todd. Had it been worked out NOW I would have done an impulse purchase at that price. However, I can wait for the disc releases though I am confident Disney will get this fixed shortly.
Okay, I feel better about going with your choice on this. It's tempting to pick up those digitals for this price but I can wait three more months for the discs.
Woah! The digitals? Wow!
I was going to wait for the discs, but...
...but is the Director's Cut of THE ABYSS fixed for iTunes in that it's now in 4k? If not, I take it everyone is confident it will be?
Thanks, Scott. It appears the EXTENDED cut is included in the general purchase which is $6.99.
I will buy it and try to find some time over the Christmas holiday to watch it.
Okay, my buys for the day were:
THE EQUALIZER 3-MOVIE COLLECTION (4k) ($19.95). I never saw any of these films so this should be a treat to watch them back-to-back.
THE ROCKY HEAVYWEIGHT COLLECTION (most in 4k) ($19.95). With all the criticism toward the recent boxed set release, I figured...
I now see what is happening
When I select each of the movies in this collection, it points me instead to corresponding showings on Amazon Prime and HBO MAX which are not in 4k. Not sure why it is doing that.
I'll go ahead and buy this collection anticipating what you have indicated above.
The ROCKY HEAVYWEIGHT COLLECTION is $19.99. I don't own any of those films in 4k, but there is no indication that any of the films in this bundle are in 4k other than an HDR logo, which I have no idea what that means.
Can anyone clarify? Thanks.
Thanks for that. I eat these kinds of films as well. I immensely enjoy war history.
I'll ponder on it. I have to say, for the biggest sale of the year, the prices are a little high and the content isn't as exciting as I thought it would be, though certainly, there is a lot here for everyone.
Halfway through the list.
Glad I didn't make any impulse buys. I saw FOOTLOOSE for, I think, $4.99 in HD. I thought to myself that it would certainly be upgraded to 4k. Then, several pages down, FOOTLOOSE appeared a second time in 4k for, I believe the same price.
As usual...Tuesday...I see a few price drop notifications in my Cheap Charts queue
...but I take it we still haven't arrived at the big end-of-year sale yet? That's the one I am waiting for.
Thank you for this, Todd
I know I'm speaking to the wind, but the studios and digital retailers need to get their crap together. It can be a potential nightmare for those who don't know the "ins and outs" of what digital retailer is compatible with which services or which titles will be...
It's THERE but I can't buy it. There is no buy option. Anyone else see a purchase option? It looks like this is probably just a temporary abnormality.
In any case, so far, I bought SERPICO (finally!) and THE LAST OF SHEILA (which I have never seen) and A FISH CALLED WANDA.
I am starting to get a lot of emails from Cheap Charts regarding Wish List alerts. I'll have to look through all of them.
Looking forward to the big sale in December if it happens.
