I haven't watched many Bette Davis movies, though I think I have seen her most notable ones.
She is an amazing actress. However, I never thought she was beautiful. I think those "eyes" and her demeanor make her more creepy than attractive.
For you, that almost seems like the holy grail of releases!
I so much want to see LADY EVE. I am tempted to buy it from B&N but I have two $10 coupons from Criterion for their next sale. You also told me about DESTRY RIDES AGAIN so that is on the list as well.
Enjoy your viewing weekend
You know what? I have had HBO MAX sitting on my Apple TV for about a month now and I haven't even watched anything on it.
I am not doing anything special today. I think I'll go down and inaugurate my HBO MAX by watching this film.
I'll be back and let you know what I think
No, it comes highly recommended, and I think it features one of those two actors.
I don't know why I have not bought it yet. A recommendation push might make me do it.
Okay, I'm back.
Just been wondering about something for the past few days now.
Those guys in the photos.
So, I saw "The Lady Vanishes" last month on The Criterion Channel. Really enjoyed it, though I don't consider myself to be a huge Hitchcock fan.
I particularly liked the two characters...
You turned me on to this film. I bought it blindly and really loved it.
I have a movie question for you. Still working on getting through my email. I'll be back...
I don't think the PQ you are looking for over streaming is going to improve.
Everything is dumbed down for general consumption and the public doesn't seem to mind.
An effort is certainly put into the best quality possible when studios prepare a title for Blu-ray or 4k.
However, it seems...
An absolutely amazing film, right?
I also felt a connection to it. How could you not?
So glad you got to watch this, Crawdaddy.
And that was Tom Skerritt in the diner? I never made the connection. I knew he looked familiar. Sort of an "Alien" repairing.
Sorry. Should not have said victim, but actual Murderer.
In other words, if I know who murdered the victim in the '74 version then I already know in the 2017 version?
