So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

FINAL WARNING Did I not ask that we stop this debate between the two series? Did all of you not read that request? Nobody is going to get creamed here because the next person that is looking to threadcrap here is going to get their account suspended. Thank You.

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Rob, Glad I made the decision to come clean on my feelings about this show. There seems to be wide agreement. I have now recommended BSG to a lot of my friends I work with, but warned them that only the first 3.5 seasons are worthy of the hype.

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

I think we can agree -- especially with the case of LOST -- that the writers begin a series with a concept. They never imagine a show will last 4-6 seasons so there is no roadmap at day one for the complete layout of what is to come. For that reason the writers pretty much make...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Jonathan and Will, Enjoyed reading your thoughts. I was actually a little concerned about posting mine. I know how many fans there are of BSG and I didn't want to post anything negative that would spark controversy. It's actually good to hear that there are others who share a...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

73 episodes in 23 days This morning I finished watching the final three episodes of Battlestar Galactica. The first thing I wanted to do was go back and read the conversations many of you had in our HDTV programming forum while the show was being broadcast. Then, thinking about...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Today is a big day. Made it up to the final 2-part finale, Daybreak, which I will watch this morning. Season 4 has been pretty dull for the most part -- not really living up to the rollercoaster rode of the previous 3 seasons. However, overall, I am still very much enjoying the show.

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Those of you listening to the negativity about that particular episode --- it may be well deserved -- but just remember some of us think it's one of the best episodes of the series. I am now halfway through Season 4.5. I expect to be done with the entire show tomorrow or later this...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

I need to be careful what I say here because I do not want the debating to resume in this thread. Just an observation.... I did a search for the original season discussions that took place in this very forum area during the original broadcast. It was amazing to see how many...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Sam, I am at the third or fourth episode in on Season Four. The episode I watched today... Callie was ejected out the airlock after accusing the President's assistant of being a Cylon. As for the revelation at the end of Season 3.... Did not see the setup with the music...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

I had no idea that when I posted my first message about watching a show that I knew was popular with the membership that it would turn into this. I would highly suggest that if anyone wants to extensively argue the merits and faults between the original and new series to do so in...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Travis, I agree. I was somewhat a fan of the original series. However, it was just...well...campy. You are absolutely correct that they took the show's original concept and made it into something that has real substance. I just finished Season Three and briefly started watching...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Yes, you are correct. The episode is EXODUS and its the Gallactica/Pegasus rescue of the people of New Galactica. Stunning set of episodes (parts I and II). To bring all of you up-to-date I am 1/3 into Season Three. Been a very busy week so I have been watching at a slower pace...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Now into the third episode of SEASON THREE. Not particularly satisfied with the New Caprica setting. It seems to radically slow the show down somewhat.

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Still working my way through completing Season Two. I am up to the part... Hostages are taken in the lounge in an effort to force the Adama to hand over the Cylon Sharon. In the end Billy, the President's aide, gets killed. I am really immersed in this show. As someone pointed...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

This show is taking over my life. Hate these boxed sets because once you start them you are on a race to finish them. In any event I am 3/4 of the way through Season II. Without spoilerizing too much I just got to the part where there is a showdown between Adama and the female...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Will, I had the same exact question as you when I opened up my boxed set. Fortunately, on the Season One Blu-ray the Miniseries Parts I & II are located on the first disc so it forces you to watch it in the correct order.

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Paul, Really appreciate your reply and thanks for lowering my expectations as I really thought some master plan would be revealed. Your spoiler about Boomer is already understood. What I don't understand.... Do the two guys that fell in love with her, Chief and Apollo...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

Sam, have heard nothing but great things about this show and so far it is living up to expectation. Just finished the episode where Starbuck is with the Resistance and ends up in a hospital with Dr. Simon. Don't want to spoil anything here. Probably will slow the pace to 1-2...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

It's not the grain that bothers me. I can handle grain. I know it is part of film. The problem is all the additional noise such as vertical line bands in low-lit scenes. My guess is that this is the same problem that I noticed while watching this season of 24. In low-lit scenes the...

So, I finally started watching Battlestar Galactica

When Battlestar Galactica was first televised in 2003 I wanted no part of it. Though I had watched some of the original series in the 70s I was not a big fan. My initial thoughts were that a remake was doomed to failure. Over the years that followed I heard nothing but raves about...
