I'll go out on a limb and say Judith Light shot J.R. in revenge for thinking Bobby shot her son! Weird scenario, but isn't that what Dallas is known for?:D
For some reason my parents trusted me enough to let me watch Dallas! :D I remember Bobby dying and even thinking "how could they?" Some months later one of my parents was reading an article somewhere and informed me that negotiations were under way to get Patrick Duffy to come back...
They should hire me on as a writer! :D You're correct on the fact if any one of the main actors had left it never would have been the same. I well remember Miss Ellie being replaced by Donna Reed and it wasn't the same that whole time. Not to take anything away from Ms. Reed, but she was no...

Now I wonder if Tom M. will retract his correction of me for saying that very thing? I read this already on Dallas Fanzine and was repeating what I heard there. Thanks for the update, Mark!
Thanks for the review! I really enjoyed the first season and DVR'd every episode. I felt it held up really well even in comparison to the old series. It will be quite interesting to see how the death of JR is played. I've saw rumors that he will be killed off in a manner similar to a new "who...
